Microsoft presents a host of new games for Xbox and PC at the Xbox Showcase. Xbox fans can look forward to numerous exclusive hits and promising third-party games.
Wow, what a showcase! At the Summer Game Fest, Microsoft is presenting a total of 27 games that will be released for the Xbox or Game Pass. The line-up on show impresses with an enormous range of genres, stunningly beautiful game worlds and potentially exciting game mechanics.
A particularly pleasing aspect for Xbox fans: the games on show included a total of 13 games from Microsoft's first-party studios. The meagre and sometimes questionable quality of the Xbox line-up of recent years has been massively upgraded with the newly announced games.

In addition to all the games, Microsoft is also showing a new edition of the Xbox Series S. The new model is only available in black instead of white. The storage space has been increased to 1 TB. Everything else remains the same compared to the original model.

"Fable": Familiar British humour in a new guise
After years of radio silence, there is finally an update on the new edition of the fantasy classic. The trailer doesn't show much real gameplay, but it entices with the usual British "Fable" humour and an exciting twist. The game is being developed by Playground Games, otherwise known for "Forza Horizon". An exciting change of genre for the studio.

"South of Midnight": Beautiful stop-motion graphics with a dark atmosphere
What is "South of Midnight" about? I have no idea. But the in-engine trailer whets the appetite for more. The stop-motion animation combined with the dark bayou setting already creates a unique atmosphere. Developer studio Compulsion Games recently released "We Happy Few".

"Star Wars Outlaws": Ubisoft's open-world game looks promising
Completely surprisingly, Ubisoft showed a CG trailer for its open-world "Star Wars" game at the Xbox Showcase. The first gameplay can be seen at the upcoming Ubisoft Showcase

"33 Immortals": Multiplayer chaos with 33 players
The "Spiritfarer" developer studio has released a trailer for its co-op roguelike. What's special about the game is that you can play it with up to 32 other players

"Payday 3": First gameplay impressions of the heist shooter
The co-op shooter "Payday 3" is back with a new gameplay trailer. The short video shows familiar "Payday" fare with some new game mechanics.

"Persona 3 Reload": Remake of the RPG classic
Atlus announces a remake of the Japanese PS2 classic "Persona 3". The game has been developed from scratch and now also includes English voice actors

"Avowed": RPG action à la Bethesda
"Avowed" is one of two games currently in development at Obsidian. It is a classic fantasy RPG that is played from a first-person perspective. "Skyrim" and Bethesda fans should get their money's worth here. There is no trailer for the second Obsidian game "The Outer Worlds 2".

"Sea of Thieves: The Legend of Monkey Island": A surprising expansion
Rare provides one of the biggest surprises of the showcase. Out of nowhere, the British development studio announced an expansion for "Sea of Thieves". "The Legend of Monkey Island" takes you to various locations from the adventure game series of the same name. You will also encounter Guybrush Threepwood on your adventures. "Monkey Island" fanatic Phil is completely over the moon.

"Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024": Career modes for aircraft enthusiasts
In the new "Flight Simulator" you have the opportunity to pursue various aviation careers. Firefighting, cargo transport, air rescue and even VIP charter services are just some of the professions you can pursue in the new game. Aircraft nerd Simon can hardly wait.

"Senua's Saga: Hellblade II": A meaningless trailer for a beautiful game
Ninja Theory has released a new trailer for the cinematic action adventure game "Hellblade II". The trailer is meaningless and does not allow any new conclusions to be drawn about the game - especially in comparison to last year's gameplay trailer. But the game certainly looks beautiful.

"Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth": New setting for the Yakuza game series
The "Like A Dragon" game series (formerly known as "Yakuza") is known for its Japanese metropolitan settings. The trailer shows an area outside Japan for the first time. The protagonist Ichiban Kasuga has apparently ended up in Hawaii. And for some reason, he wakes up completely naked on the beach in Waikiki. The trailer makes my "Yakuza" heart beat faster - I can hardly wait! You can find out more about the game at the RGG Summit.

"Fallout 76: Atlantic City": New expansion for the online "Fallout"
About a year after the last expansion "The Pitt", fans of Bethesda's post-apocalyptic online game are getting new fodder. The new DLC takes you to the gambling hell of Atlantic City.

"Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess": Wacky JRPG action in feudal Japan
Capcom presents a new game set in medieval Japan with wacky monsters. Visually, it is reminiscent of "Onimusha". More gameplay may be available at the upcoming Capcom Showcase.

"The Elder Scrolls Online - Journey to Necrom": New impressions of the expansion

"Overwatch 2: Invasion": No co-op story mode, but new content
Blizzard announced a few weeks ago that the co-op story mode of "Overwatch 2" has been cancelled. The originally planned story will instead be told in new PvP modes. The new trailer provides a first impression of the story integration in the new multiplayer content.

"Persona 5 Tactica": Strategy game in the "Persona 5" universe

"Jusant": climbing and puzzling
In "Jusant" you will be climbing and solving puzzles. Your goal? Climb a giant tower. Why is that? Zero plan. But the game immediately won me over with the short trailer and the beautiful graphics. The developer studio Dontnod is currently also working on the ghost hunter game "Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden".

"Still Wakes the Deep": Horror on an oil rig
Are you into walking simulators and horror games? Then "Still Wakes the Deep" could be something for you. The game promises supernatural thrills on a remote oil rig. Developer studio The Chinese Room is known for games such as "Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs" and "Everybody's Gone to the Rapture".

"Dungeons of Hinterberg": Austrian adventure game with a beautiful comic book aesthetic
How awesome does this game look? Dungeons of Hinterberg takes you to the Austrian Alps. Lots of magical dungeons await you there. Fight monsters, solve puzzles and get to know the villagers in local bars and restaurants. I'm already booking my ticket to Hinterberg.

"Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty"
Johnny Silverhand is back! Keanu Reeves himself announces the new trailer for the "Cyberpunk" story expansion "Phantom Liberty" at the Xbox Showcase. And it looks very spectacular. CD Projekt Red is known for its meaty expansions and the new "Cyberpunk" chapter seems to be no exception. Oh, and Idris Elba is in it too. There's also a release date - you won't have to wait much longer.

"Cities Skylines II": City building with beautiful graphics
The successor to the popular simulation game "Cities Skylines" promises "the most realistic city building ever". Is this statement true? No idea, but the trailer certainly looks very coherent.

"Metaphor: ReFantazio": New JRPG from the "Persona" creators
The game was originally announced a few years ago as "Project ReFantasy". It is a completely new role-playing game from the "Persona" creators. If you like JRPGs in a colourful fantasy setting, this trailer is for you.

"Towerborne": Colourful sidescrolling adventure
"Towerborne" is a new co-op adventure game from the development studio behind "The Banner Saga". In contrast to the dark mood of "The Banner Saga", the new game has a light-hearted atmosphere. If one of your characters dies, they will remember it for the rest of the game - every death has an impact on the rest of the game.

"Clockwork Revolution": Steampunk action RPG à la "Bioshock Infinite"
"Is this a sequel to Bioshock Infinite?" I think to myself at the start of the trailer. No, it's a brand new game from Xbox studio Inxile Entertainment. This studio is otherwise known for games such as "The Bard's Tale" and "Wasteland". In "Clockwork Revolution", you fight your way through a beautifully designed steampunk world in classic first-person RPG style. You can influence the outcome of the story by travelling through time. For me, one of the absolute highlights of the show.

"Starfield": Bethesda's space epic looks impressive
At the end of the showcase, Xbox boss Phil Spencer hands over to Todd Howard, studio boss at Bethesda. Howard leads through a 45-minute gameplay presentation of "Starfield". Among other things, you can see the character creator, the skill system, the building of spaceships and lots of action-packed battles in space and on alien planets. The game looks huge and ambitious. If Bethesda manages to bring the various gameplay elements together into a coherent whole, we can expect one of the biggest and most spectacular RPGs of all time.

A new controller and a new headset in the "Starfield" design are also available for the launch of the game. Pretty! The limited "Constellation Edition" of the game includes a replica of the in-game space clock.
