The "Dyson Zone" is an air purifier and headphones at the same time. With this special gadget, Dyson wants to give the wearer purified air - including active noise cancellation.
The products of the technology company Dyson are known for their air streams. Now the wind is blowing in a new direction: namely directly into your face. That's because the Singapore-headquartered company has unveiled the "Dyson Zone." A gadget that is an air purifier and headphones in one.
The Dyson Zone consists of two parts: a headphone and a visor. The latter is designed to be in close proximity to the face, but not to rest directly on it. It can be put on or taken off as needed. Once the visor is mounted, it is supposed to direct a continuous, filtered airflow to the nose and mouth, creating an "air bubble". To do this, miniventilators sit in both ear cups.

These miniventilators draw in polluted air from the environment and clean it using a series of filters. These filters are electrostatically charged, among other things, to attract fine particles. The cleaned air is then blown through the visor and into the lower part of the face.
Not because of Covid
They spent six years tinkering with the Dyson Zone and built more than 500 prototypes, he said. The global corona pandemic was not the reason the headset visor was created. The already globally increasing air pollution motivated the development.

The futuristic device is designed to allow wearers to breathe clean air wherever they go. "It is equipped with a two-stage air purification system capable of filtering both exhaust gases and pollutants from the air in cities," Dyson writes on their website.
Neuland Audio
Dyson didn't enlist outside help to make the headphones. They are "Dyson's very first high-quality audio technology," the website continues. The headphones are said to have active noise cancellation with three modes. An algorithm thus neutralizes noises from the environment. This probably also includes those of the fans, which work in both ear cups.
Dyson has not announced the retail price or the exact release date of the Dyson Zone. However, the futuristic gadget is supposed to be released this year.

«I want it all! The terrifying lows, the dizzying highs, the creamy middles!» – these words spoken by an iconic American TV celebrity could have been mine. It's a take on life I also apply to my job. What does this mean in concrete terms? That every story has its charm; no matter how small, large, exciting or trivial. The more eclectic the mix, the better.
