iPhone 14: The current Apple bestseller now in a new colour
A few months after the launch of the 14 series, Apple has introduced another colour for the iPhone. It's getting a little more colourful.
Is this the most explosive and exciting news I've had the honour of writing this year? Probably yes. Hold on tight: Apple has unveiled a new colour. Available to pre-order now, with delivery starting on 14 March. And this colour is - imaginary drum roll - yellow.
If you just fancy the yellow colour, don't bother looking at the specifications. The available models in yellow are technically exactly the same as their already available brothers and sisters, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. The new yellow iPhones are also made of aluminium, have a 6.1 or 6.7-inch XDR display, a 12-megapixel camera and the A15 Bionic chip.
Yellow like ...?

The competition has ended.
Some online news portals for Apple fans had already been speculating for days about what colour it might be this year. Apple has educated its followers well in recent years. Since the iPhone 12 series, there has been a seasonal colour each spring. Back in 2021, it was a subtle purple, officially called "Purple".
There were models in green for the 13 series. The Mini and the regular 13 in standard green, for the Pro and Pro Max series there was a darker "Alpine Green".
For the current model series, Apple has dispensed with its own yellow colour for the Pro models. They are still only available in the colours gold, silver, black and dark purple. Gold is somehow the more elegant yellow anyway, isn't it?
Yellow iPhones were last seen on the 11 model and the XR. If yellow is more important to you as a colour than cutting-edge technology
While we're talking about colours ...
Now the news about the new yellow iPhone - this was the eighth mention of the new colour, by the way - has become a little longer. And I'm not finished with the facts yet. Calvin from our category team has picked out a few figures for me. These show which colours dominate among our customers.
The iPhone 14 was dominated by black until the launch of the yellow model. Almost two thirds were sold in this colour, followed at some distance by blue, silver and purple, with only three out of every 100 iPhones sold being red.
The iPhone 14 Plus, the model with the larger screen, is more colourful. 52 per cent of all iPhones sold are either blue, purple or red.
Green has its fans
The iPhone 13 was launched in the seasonal colour green around a year ago. Here, the figures already show that the darker "Alpine Green" of the Pro models has definitely found its fans. The proportion of green models is somewhat lower for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini models.
P.S.: Sorry for the clickbait title that drew you here. But I hope you still had fun with this news about the new iPhone 14 in yellow. If so, let me know in the comments. Ironic observations on the yellow iPhone model are also welcome. As are praises of Apple's marketing artistry.
