The games soon to be released by Xbox have excellent user ratings. With "Grounded" and "Sea of Thieves", two multiplayer games are also included.

In a blog post on Wednesday, Xbox's Game Content President Matt Booty announced that four Xbox fan favourites will soon be available on Sony's Playstation. Two of the titles will also appear on Nintendo Switch. These are the games in question:

  • "Pentiment": Release on 22 February for PS4, PS5 and Switch
  • "Hi-Fi Rush": Release on 19 March for PS5
  • "Grounded": Release on 16 April for PS4, PS5 and Switch
  • "Sea of Thieves": Release on 30 April for PS5

Unfortunately, it is not yet known whether and when the titles for Playstation and Switch will also be available in our shop. I'll briefly introduce you to the four games below

Is the Xbox Game Pass still worth it?

According to Matt Booty, the release should allow more players to enjoy popular games. Developer studios should also benefit from this, as it will give them a greater reach. Subscribers to the Xbox Game Pass feared that the Game Pass or the Xbox itself would no longer be worthwhile: exclusive titles are important arguments when buying a console.

However, Matt Booty emphasises that the Game Pass will remain attractive: "The biggest games in the world will appear on Xbox," he promises. Games from the developer studios that belong to Xbox - including Bethesda and Activision Blizzard - will continue to be available in Game Pass from the day of release.

"Pentiment": single player with a historical setting

"Pentiment" is an insider tip. The adventure game was released on Xbox and PC at the end of 2022. It is set in 16th century Bavaria and has a historical background. The loving drawings that illustrate the game are reminiscent of typical medieval paintings. You take on the role of the book painter Andreas, who becomes involved in a murder case by chance and tries to solve it. On Steam, "Pentiment" has a rating of 94 per cent with around 5000 reviews.

"Hi-Fi Rush": single player with a sense of rhythm

The game was released on PC and Xbox in early 2023 and has a 97 per cent positive rating on Steam with almost 20,000 reviews. In "Hi-Fi Rush", everything revolves around the right rhythm: You beat up opponents to the beat of the music. If you hit the notes well, you cause more damage. The environment and your opponents also react to the music. The game includes tracks by The Prodigy, Joy Formidable and Nine Inch Nails.

"Grounded": Co-op survival in the garden

In "Grounded", you are one of up to four teenagers who have been accidentally shrunk to the size of bugs. You realise that the garden is a dangerous place and must try to stay alive by building a base and better equipment. As well as exploring different biomes, there are also puzzles to solve. "Grounded" was released on Xbox and Windows in September 2022. Of the approximately 53,000 reviews on Steam, 89 per cent are positive. It will be possible to play together across all platforms.

"Sea of Thieves": A world for pirates

The game from 2018 has been available on all Xbox versions since the end of 2020. In the open world of "Sea of Thieves", you dedicate yourself to your life as an aspiring pirate. You complete quests, join factions and sail the seas with your own ship to find hidden treasures. PvP is also possible. You can play with others on PS5, Xbox and PC. Around 272,000 people have rated the game on Steam, with 90 per cent of the reviews being positive.

Are the four games interesting for you? What do you think of the fact that they will soon be available on other platforms? Let me know in the comments!

Feels just as comfortable in front of a gaming PC as she does in a hammock in the garden. Likes the Roman Empire, container ships and science fiction books. Focuses mostly on unearthing news stories about IT and smart products.
