The Galaxy A14 is Samsung's new affordable entry-level smartphone
The Samsung Galaxy A14 presented at CES 2023 brings a few optimisations compared to the previous model. The budget smartphone gets a higher-resolution display and a selfie camera with more megapixels.
Like its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy A13, the Samsung Galaxy A14 5G comes with at least 4 gigabytes of RAM and 64 gigabytes of storage space. The memory of the successor can also be expanded to one terabyte via microSD. The screen is the same size at 6.6 inches, but the resolution is now 1080p instead of 720p. As with its predecessor, the refresh rate is 90 hertz.
The main camera remains the same and has a resolution of 50 megapixels. There is also a macro camera and a depth sensor for blurred portrait shots. The selfie camera is now 13 instead of 8 megapixels. The 5000 mAh battery has also been retained. This can be charged via a 15-watt power supply unit.
The device is supplied with Android 13, which means it is the latest version of the software operating system. Samsung promises security updates for four years and the operating system will receive two upgrades. This puts the smartphone above the usual average of two to three years of security updates in this price category.
Not least, you now have a choice of four different colours. A light green, dark red, black or a light grey.
