As an additional slot you will also find a smart card reader for bank or access cards according to the ISO7816 standard. In addition, the Interconnect Ex not only offers the possibility to connect four USB 3.0 devices for data exchange, but also to charge smartphones and tablets extremely quickly via the two USB charging ports. The Interconnect Ex-Multipanel with a brushed aluminium front panel is housed in a free 5.25 inch slot in the enclosure. Internally it is connected to the mainboard via a free USB 3.0 header and a SATA port. The two USB charging ports are also connected via an internal header. The card reader connection is implemented via a cable with external USB 3.0 connection, so it may have to be routed out of the housing. In addition, a 4-pin MolEx plug must be connected to the power supply unit - because it supplies the necessary power.
