Product details

Fast, intuitive controls and innovative technologies help you explore every area of photography and videography. Serial shooting at up to 7 fps and a fast-reacting 45 point AF, which works precisely under
a wide range of lighting conditions and with a variety of lenses, make it possible to capture the decisive moment.

The 24.2 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor and the 7,560-pixel RGB+IR metering sensor, which provides precise exposure, ensure vivid, detailed images full of atmosphere in every situation. The large ISO range of ISO 100-16,000 and the flicker detection ensure first-class results with little light and uniform exposure with flickering artificial light.

The smart viewfinder with 100% field coverage lets you see the entire scene in the viewfinder as you compose the image and instantly displays the current settings. With the 7.7 cm large rotating and swivelling touchscreen LCD, which can be operated intuitively, unusual viewing angles can be achieved. It can also be used in Live View mode for image composition and for continuous shooting with up to 5 fps and continuous autofocus.

The camera enables Full HD video recording at 60 fps with the option of creative slow-motion or time-lapse sequences in MP4 format at different frame rates. The Dual Pixel CMOS AF is a powerful AF system for continuous focus tracking during video recording. In addition, the camera offers special internal functions such as time-lapse movie, HDR and various creative filters.

NFC and Wlan make it easy to connect a compatible mobile device with the Canon Camera Connect App installed to your camera. This enables remote control of the camera in photo and movie mode. Alternatively, the EOS Utility software can be used on a Mac or PC for remote recording. Wlan and NFC are also ideal for transferring images from the camera to a Canon Connect Station or printing them to a compatible printer.

DigitalPhotoSingle testReleaseMarch 2022

The Canon 80D stands out in several respects. It is not only the oldest camera in the test field, but also the only one with a classic mirror. This is reflected in the price as well as in the dimensions and weight and shows the advantages of the CSC concept to the full. In terms of image quality, the 80D loses ground to the rest of the test field, the continuous shooting speed also lags behind due...

You don't need a fat wallet to take good photos. The Panasonic Lumix TZ91 (370 euros) or the Nikon D3400 (450 euros) take great pictures. If you like to photograph lively subjects, the Nikon D7500 (from 1200 euros) is a top camera. System cameras are a compact alternative to SLRs - such as the still affordable, but already well-equipped Canon EOS M50 (690 euros) or the Panasonic Lumix GX9 (from 800 euros)...
