The Canon EOS R3 is ideal for sports, action, reportage and wildlife photography - and also for video recordings with up to 6K/60p. The mirrorless camera is characterised by its autofocus eye control, among other things. Incidentally, the AF works down to -7.5 EV and therefore almost in the dark...
With a price range from 890 to 8000 euros, there should be something to suit almost every budget. High-resolution medium and full-frame cameras offer top performance in terms of image quality. Robust, fast and excellently equipped cameras can also be found in the APS-C and MFT range...
The Canon EOS R3 is ideal for sports, action and wildlife photography - and also for all video recordings involving moving objects. The mirrorless camera is characterised by unique eye control of the AF - which incidentally works down to -7.5 EV and therefore almost in the dark...
The JPEG signal processing in the Canon R3 does a very good job and leaves no room for big quality leaps when using RAW. At low ISO values, RAW images look a little more natural, but show no significant improvement in detail reproduction. At high sensitivities, untreated RAWs are too noisy...

Whether you choose the Nikon Z 9 or the EOS R3: In both cases, you can look forward to an excellent professional camera with outstanding speed and image quality. Canon's model is a tad faster, but Nikon scores with a higher resolution, better equipment and video functions. Which camera wins will therefore depend on personal preferences.
Both the Canon EOS R3 and the Nikon Z 9 delivered very good, though not perfect, image tracking performance in our test. Nevertheless, their performance is astonishing, reducing the essential thinking work to the preparation of the shots. The Nikon Z 9 stuck to the subject slightly better than the Canon EOS R3 and found its way back into focus more quickly when it was lost...
