If you want to get into medium format at a reasonable price, the GFX 50S II is a good choice. The older sister model GFX 50R is even 500 euros cheaper according to street prices, but among other things it does without the image stabiliser. The sovereign test victory is still achieved by the 102 MP top model GFX100, which at 11,000 euros costs almost three times as much as the GFX50S II.
The GFX100S proves that medium format is moving closer to full format, not only through more compact dimensions and lower weight than before, but also in terms of price. While some medium format cameras cost six-figure sums, Fujifilm is only charging 6000 euros.
