Honor View 20
128 GB, Midnight Black, 6.40", Dual SIM, 48 Mpx, 4GProduct details
The Honor View20 has many innovative features, including the world’s first high-definition 48MP camera with advanced rear 3D camera, innovative in-screen camera design, high-performance 7nm Kirin 980 chipsets with dual NPU, and the world’s first nano-texture body created by nanolithography. The Honor View20 is the first smartphone to use nanolithography, whose nano-vacuum coating and invisible aurora texture process creates a vivid and dynamic V-shape colour gradient with an attractive gleaming effect. The smartphone’s integrated 3D curved body with an elegant arc design is only 8.1mm thick and consists of a perfect blend of metal and glass texture. The Honor View20 brings you a 6.4-inch 2310p x 1080p display with 398 PPI. The new All-View Display adopts an innovative in-screen camera design. It abandons the widely-used notch design which occupies a relatively large area of the front panel, and creates a very small hole with a diameter of only 4.5mm for the front camera. The Honor View20 comes with the world’s first 48MP rear camera with 48MP AI Ultra Clarity and AI-enabled HDR, providing superb photo quality and clarity. The Sony IMX586 48MP sensor and upgraded AI capability make a substantial difference when shooting at night. Even if you lack a steady hand, by holding the smartphone for six seconds, the technology analyses camera movement and intelligently selects and combines several different frames to help create the most blur-free photo possible. The 48MP AI Ultra Clarity mode produces “Super 48MP Photos”. The camera takes multiple 48MP pictures, and the Kirin 980 chipset with dual-ISP collects precise details from each, to combine them into a single 48MP picture. Kirin 980’s dual-NPU then begins the AI learning process, analysing the picture quality and optimising the photos, especially the dim and blurry segments, to create more vivid colours and sharper images. The camera sensor includes a Quad Bayer colour filter array, to deliver higher sensitivity and resolution, by producing adjacent 2x2 pixels in the same colour. Turn on the night shooting mode (scroll the bar along the bottom). When you shoot photos at night, hold the smartphone steady for a few seconds. The AI camera takes multiple frames and creates the best photo.

Basically, smartphones are like cars: a sports car with a powerful V8 engine needs more fuel than a small car with a three-cylinder engine. But battery life is not everything, as the Motorola E5 proves. With its weak camera and mediocre display, it is not much fun to use in everyday life...
48 megapixels and one lens or three lenses with 12 to 16 MP? In high light, the Honor wins with its 48 MP resolution. In low light, the Samsung's larger pixels score, although Honor then combines four pixels into an even larger unit. In addition, the Samsung's telephoto lens is a real plus, for example in portraits, but its narrow angle of view cannot compensate for the Honor's larger resolution reserve...

- Very high resolution

- solid image quality

- Almost bezel-less 6.4-inch display with integrated 25-megapixel selfie camera
- Fast system thanks to Kirin 980 and good technical equipment
- current Android 9
- Main camera with 48 megapixel resolution and f/1.8 aperture

The Honor View 20 is fast, stylish and well-made - but it fails in two important points: The 48-megapixel camera does not meet expectations and the display is too dark. Let's see what the Sony XZ4 gets out of the same camera sensor.
