Unlike the compactly built X3, the Insta360 One is designed as an expandable action camera: Accessories can be plugged in as needed, even the lenses are interchangeable with a flick of the wrist around the "One RS" core. This makes the Insta360 One RS flexible to use. In the Twin Edition, the camera comes with the "One RS" core, a battery base and two lenses: the 4K lens and a 360-degree lens...
The Insta360 One RS in the "Twin Edition" dances on all highs with its action camera and 360-degree module. The touchscreen is fiddly and the battery life a little short. But the recording quality is good, and the Insta even easily stands up to comparison with GoPro. The image stabiliser and HDR mode in particular cut a fine figure...
- Modular construction
- Battery easily replaceable
- Waterproof
- Image noise a little too strong
- Modules can overlay screen
A flexible solution for action and 360-degree shots. Changing the modules is quick and easy, the image quality is okay for the price.
- The action camera delivers very good 4K videos, photos and spherical 360-degree shots. The image quality can probably be improved even further when the module developed with Leica with a one-inch sensor comes onto the market.
- Menus and settings could be displayed a little faster and more responsive on the monitor. Due to the concept, image control on the very small screen is not very comfortable.
The ONE R from Insta360 is an innovative solution and a successful premiere for the manufacturer in action cameras. It brings a breath of fresh air to this product segment and offers many different recording options. The modular concept is consistently adhered to and is also reflected in the various product packages with which the ONE R is offered...
Insta 360 has already launched a few modern 360-degree models on the market and therefore has experience in this area. The One R 360 is a very interesting device because it is modularly changeable. Among our test candidates, the camera reminds us most of a classic action cam. It is surprisingly light and connects just as quickly as the Gopro with a complementary app.
