Product details

How can perfection be achieved? With sophisticated details that prove their worth in practical use. The outstanding performance of this latest model in the proven lens series ensures that you are always
at the forefront. Improved AF tracking and exposure control as well as the SPORT VR mode enable fantastic series of shots. A brand new optical construction ensures optimum image quality from edge to edge. Thanks to Nikon's Nano Crystal Coating, ghosting and flare are effectively minimised. The integration of a fluorite glass lens in the front of the lens saves weight while maintaining excellent optical properties and also leads to improved balance.

Sports, action, news, reportage: with this FX format lens you can reach a new level. The focal length of 70 to 200 mm (equivalent to 105 to 300 mm when using a Nikon digital SLR camera with a DX format image sensor) covers the most frequently used telephoto range. The high speed of 1:2.8 offers great photographic freedom when using selective focus or in low light. The professional zoom delivers outstanding performance even at open aperture and the autofocus works extremely quickly and reliably. The minimum focusing distance is 1.1 metres and the maximum magnification has been increased from 1:9.1 to 1:4.8. Photographers who work with Nikon's high-resolution image sensors and SLR cameras with high frame rates are perfectly prepared for any situation with this new telephoto zoom.
