Like the E-M1, the M. Zuiko Digital ED 40-150 mm 1:2.8 PRO (80-300 mm) is dustproof, splashproof and frostproof. It is also more compact and lighter than a typical full-frame lens with comparable features. For the first time, a focusing system is used in which two high-quality lens elements are driven by dual linear motors. This makes it extremely fast. Thanks to the virtually silent zoom, it is equally suitable for taking pictures of shy animals, fast-paced sporting events or events. With a minimum shooting distance of only 70 cm for all focal lengths, Fn button, manual focus mechanism and a sliding sun visor, the new M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 40-150 mm 1:2.8 PRO is versatile and easy to use. Excellent optical performance is guaranteed by the 1:2.8 light intensity over the entire focal length range.

Auch wenn das Objektiv unterschiedliche Leistungen in den verschiedenen Brennweiten hat, ist die Gesamtleistung dennoch stark um eine Empfehlung zu erhalten. das liegt speziell daran, dass sowohl offen als auch abgeblendet gut Werte erreicht und somit der Nutzer gute Ergebnisse erwarten kann. Zudem ist das Objektiv sehr lichtstark und bleibt preislich ebenfalls auf dem Teppich.
Das Objektiv macht einen guten aber nicht perfekten Job denn dafür fehlen den Aufnahmen die letzte Schärfe in den Bildern. Dennoch überzeugt das Modell mit hochwertiger Verarbeitung sowie sehr gutem Verhalten bei der Verzeichnung. Auch der schnelle AF arbeitet exzellent und vor allen Dingen sehr leise...

Das Modell von Olympus ist exzellent gefertigt und lässt sich sehr gut bedienen, wobei Zoom- und Fokusring ebenfalls gut arbeiten. Nur bei der Randabdunklung und offen arbeitet das Zoom nicht perfekt aber dafür spielt die Verzeichnung keinerlei Rolle. Zudem ist es mit einer sehr guten Nahgrenze sowie hochwertigen Materialien sehr gut aufgestellt.
Das Zuiko ist ein sehr hochwertiges Objektiv der Extraklasse und leistet sich keinen einzigen Patzer. Das Abbildungsvermögen des Modells ist in der Tat über den gesamten Bereich exzellent und Verzeichnung sowie Vignettierung spielen nahezu keine Rolle. Zudem ist es sehr sauber gefertigt und bietet einen Autofokus, der schnell und dabei sehr leise arbeitet, sodass er auch beim Filmen eingesetzt werden kann.
