Der UB404 ist kein High-End-Player. Muss er aber auch nicht sein. Panasonic ist es gelungen, eine Menge Features aus der Topklasse zu integrieren. Mehr, als man bei diesem Preispunkt erwarten muss.

Nach unseren ausführlichen Tests bleibt am Ende zu sagen, dass sich die Unterschiede der UHD-Blu-ray-Player in den Details finden lassen. Wer sich ein solches Gerät zulegen und keine horrenden Summen investieren möchte, dem sei der Panasonic DMP-UB404 ans Herz gelegt. Für den häuslichen Gebrauch ist der Japaner völlig ausreichend.
Der preiswerte Spieler punktet mit kurzen Ladezeiten, liefert ein erstklassiges Bild und hat eine Taste, die HDR-Einstellungen erleichtert. Das 4K Direct Chroma Upscaling rechnet Full-HD-Inhalte hoch.
