Product details
This lens meets the strict quality standards of Leica Camera AG. Thanks to its sophisticated design, it delivers brilliant sharpness all the way to the edges. At the same time, it avoids distortions of all kinds, allowing images to be reproduced accurately and in detail. It is the ideal tool for professional-level photography.
Whether zooming in, taking close-ups, or shooting while walking, this lens gives you the freedom to capture even challenging subjects. The 100-400 mm ultra-telephoto lens (35mm equivalent: 200-800 mm) captures distant subjects as if you were right in front of them, while its compact, lightweight design ensures optimal mobility. Additionally, a zoom lock ring allows for easy switching from vertical to horizontal composition, while other features provide excellent flexibility for all areas of photography, from sports to nature.
The maximum focal length can be extended to 800 mm (35mm equivalent: 1,600 mm) with the optional DMW-TC20 teleconverter.
With a minimum focusing distance of 1.3 m and a maximum magnification of 0.5x, this lens is a powerful tool for nature photography, allowing you to fill the frame with small subjects like birds and butterflies. With the DMW-TC20 attached, 1:1 macro photography in natural size is also possible.
The optimized configuration includes 20 elements in 13 groups, including 1 aspherical/ED lens, 1 UED lens, and 2 ED lenses, providing minimal optical errors and excellent resolution.
It achieves outstanding sharpness and resolution throughout the zoom range—delivering impact without compromise.
