Die Kamera kann durchaus mit ihren Fotos überzeugen denn neben einem guten Rauschverhalten ist das Modell auch mit einem Sucher sowie Objektivring ausgestattet. Allerdings ist die Auflösung in den Details nicht gut, sodass das neben einem hörbaren Zoom bei den Videos die Mankos sind, die man leider hinnehmen muss...

An der schlichten Lumix wirkt nur das Drehrad ums Objektiv auffällig. Damit lässt sich zoomen oder die Blende und Verschlusszeit einstellen. Die Bildqualität ist für eine Kompakte sehr ordentlich. Ungewöhnlich in dieser Klasse ist der elektronische Sucher.
Zwar ist das Vorgängermodell mit einem GPS ausgestattet, das hier fehlt aber dafür ist die Bildqualität auch deutlich besser. Die hohe Bildschärfe sowie die sehr hohe Serienbildgeschwindigkeit von 10 Bildern/Sekunde bei voller Auflösung können für die TZ71 überzeugen. Zudem ist ein Sucher mit an Bord und die Bedienung erfolgt auch aufgrund des Rings um das Objektiv sehr flott und präzise.
