Having tried a couple other portable scanners, I think this is the best device on the market today in its class!

I bought the scanner to scan my private invoices and all the non-electronic letters that still arrive old-school. I'm currently still doing this with my smartphone and the Dropbox app, so the quality is so-so... This scanner was supposed to provide a remedy.
But I was very disappointed and unfortunately have to return the product.

I picked it up to scan documents quickly and easily, and since I'm already familiar with Brother scanners, I'm happy with it in that respect: it scans documents quickly and puts them in the right direction. Duplexing is a real time-saver too, as is saving directly to PDF and the ability to build one by adding pages while scanning.
Unfortunately, the only negative point about document scanning is that automatic size detection and most of the automatic detection options (orientation, etc...) only work when scanning at a resolution of 300dpi. If you increase the resolution, you'll have to do everything by hand with another piece of software... This is still sufficient for most documents, but it's a shame for a device that boasts 600dpi optical scan resolution...
Finally, if you want to scan photos, don't bother! It's not a device made for that: you'll get artefacts, patterns and streaks appearing on your photos, which will also not keep their proportions (they'll be slightly thinner/shorter in the direction of the scan). So for photos, it's not worth using a traditional flatbed scanner or one of better quality.

Allows you to scan directly to the SDcardMini with the selection buttons on top (Duplex, B/W Color, JPG or PDF output)
Allows with Wifi to scan on the smartphone in pdf, then to be able to print it using the Brother iPrint & Scan app
Allows scanning on PC with their app which is very powerful, an added value
This second scanner is a great improvement of my previous one (black) of the competition acquired 5 years ago ... but it is still their flagship model ....

Excellent product!

Super scanner, very light and practical. I scanned my ID and worked tip top, so, it can not only scan sheets :-). Battery lasts very long. Super product for super price. Only thing that is annoying: when I scan and then the documents go into the SD cards. And from there to take out with my smartphone, I have to turn off home network and then connect my smartphone min the device and via web browser download the file to my smartphone but after second time use, goes after super easy. Otherwise if you have a SD reader, can simply take the SD card out and then transfer on the PC or laptop.

Device or software extremely unstable, not recommended. I have been using the scanner for 4 months and always hoped for a software update.

Can ONLY, and I mean ONLY, be charged when attached to a computer, and not a power plug. Makes zero sense, and is super frustrating
The battery on my 6 months old product can scan about 10 pages before it needs charging. It is ridicolous.

Very handy device, scans quickly and also double-sided. Unfortunately, it is a little difficult to establish the connection. Otherwise highly recommended. Very good price/performance ratio.

Perfect for anyone who scans infrequently but is looking for a better alternative to smartphone scans.

The blade is somewhat difficult to insert as there is no holder. The sheet has to be held. But the feed is fast, the image is very sharp and accurate, with automatic image correction.
The scanner is easy to connect to the computer using the USB cable supplied. For Windows, you should download and install your own scanner programme.
If several pages are to be added to a scan, each individual sheet must be scanned again. Save all sheets at the end of the scan.

I bought the thing to simply scan school documents without having to replace the existing printer or have a flatbed scanner standing around uselessly somewhere.
It does a pretty good job, the quality is good enough, the software is easy to use. Simple routines can also be programmed.
Scanning ID cards (ID, driving licence) also works perfectly.
The only drawback:
Scanning cannot be used directly with a USB-C adapter (Logitec), I have to connect a docking station.

Practical little scanner.
Unfortunately, it has to be connected via a docking station; the device is not recognised by the Surface Pro 9 with the Logitec USB-C adapter.
Edith adds: with USB-C via the docking station it works...
Which is also less great:
It takes a few minutes to find out how the multi-page function works, especially the workflow options (favourites of scan options) are not really helpful here.
The Continuous Scan option can only be selected in Standard Scan.
Price/performance is ok.
For a few batzeli me, there is the duplex version (two-sided scanning). If I had to buy one again, I would prefer one with duplex.

Does what it is supposed to do.
OK for mobile use.
The software is disastrous.
Would still buy it again because it is portable.
Only the videos on the internet are useful as documentation.

After initial difficulties, the scanner lists everything, but only via the programme, not via the scan button on the device

I bought the scanner mainly to save space and because I don't scan often enough to dedicate that much space to it. And it completely fulfills that. I am also satisfied with the scanning performance.
But the manual explains extremely little. Which software to download, how to fix a paper jam, what all the buttons are for... all that can be found on support.brother.com.
So why include a manual? A barcode / link would have been enough and would have saved even more paper there. Strange for a device that is supposed to help you digitize documents.
