i have been violently molesting this phone, throwing it on the ground, on cement on walls ,in water, in the river, in the bathtub.
I was assaulted the other night at the station of bern and used it to defend myself. the 3 assailants have multiple skull rib and spine fractures caused by the ultra robust yet light frame of my cats62
the last one of them tried to run and hide in the sewers but i was very quickly able to spot him thanks to the infrared camera that works like magic and allowed me to stalk the poor b4stard in the dark, ultimately ambushing him.
I was able to call an ambulance despite being in the deep part of the bernese sewers because the receiving is very good too.
otherwise its a normal android based phone that does everything like any other phone.
I would write more but I my colleague forgot to bring the hammer and we need to nail some planks so again the CAT is needed.
Cheers

Turns on by itself and hardly turns on, or not at all, already sent it in once and have to do it again since nothing works. Not recommended

This is the first time that I have had a thermal imaging camera at my disposal and I must say that I am quite enthusiastic. Enclosed are a few pictures I took today, including of the Ulisse 13 DCI mobile split air conditioner, which is available from Galaxus, among others.
Otherwise: Robust, high-quality looking mobile phone. The frame extends a fraction of a mm beyond the display and the cameras to prevent glass damage when dropped. I notice this when using the phone, but it doesn't bother me much.
The price seems rather high to me, but the competition is manageable and therefore they can probably afford it. The Lepton 3.5 from FLIR is installed, which alone costs around CHF 200 and has a resolution of 160x120.

A good phone for basic use. Replaces an old Android 5.1.1 whose On/Off button didn't respond very well after 5 1/2 years, and became very slow at times. Reception quality for phone calls is perfect with the Cat in places where the old one struggled to maintain communication. It's also very nice to not have to wait several seconds when I start an app.
The dual SIM works well, you can associate a preferred SIM card with each contact after setting the preferred card for phone calls to "ask every time". The 2nd SIM takes the place of the SD card, so it's one or the other. After a few weeks of use and 41 apps installed I am at 26GB of use on 128, knowing that the system already occupies 21GB. This leaves a comfortable margin if you don't do streaming videos and if you know how to empty the WhatsApp cache.
The device comes with a screen protector installed, so there's no need to buy one right away, or to panic if the screen looks scratched.
The camera of an (old) Samsung S7 or a 200.- Nokia gives better pictures, especially as soon as the light is not optimal.
I would have liked to buy a Nokia XR20, but I'm not a big fan of 5G and the Cat's IR camera was the deciding factor. The software that uses it is well designed and compensates for the low resolution of the IR sensor (160x120 pixels) by superimposing the visible camera image on the IR image. One can take a picture taken in IR and still make adjustments and measurements on it afterwards.
In short:
If the thermal camera is not a must, there are better and cheaper devices.
If the thermal camera is a must, then the Cat S62 pro is the smartphone with the best IR sensor at the end of 2021 and is very reasonably priced.

Already had several warranty repairs, now after the warranty again, cannot be switched on, total loss without a fall. Because no other device has the same capabilities, I bought another S62 with a 3-year warranty... I hope there will be a successor model with a FLIR camera.

Was looking for a construction site phone, where can also get wet and is robust enough when falling down. Found here and can so in the Gaben during construction work well phone and with the Wäremkamera errors immediately recognize. Good part.

After I had the CAT S62 Pro now for a week, in the side pocket of the work trousers, with me at work, while working in the private household, the "latest hardened, scratch-resistant Corning® Gorilla® Glass 6" already shows obvious signs of wear, which is not recognized by CAT as a warranty case.
In my old house I could already see the course of the heating pipes, non-functioning underfloor heating pipes and weak points in the insulation.

Unfortunately, it does not meet my expectations at all. They tried to marry an expensive thermal imaging camera with a mediocre smartphone here. The result is a dedicated camera app that is constantly jerky or has dropouts (the picture regularly freezes for 2-3 seconds). It also ignores the screen's rotation lock, which causes everything to rotate whether you want it to or not. What's great is that the raw data of the images is saved, and you can, for example, select the temperature range afterwards -- again, only in theory, because when pushing the color range or (God forbid) manually entering e.g. negative temperatures, the results are unpredictable. There are 9 more or less useful palettes for the thermal images, you cannot use your own. The images are saved in the size 1440 x 1080 px as JPG and with a "FLIR" watermark in the corner, the 160 x 120 px thermal image can be overlaid in several ways. Since the thermal sensor is about 1 cm above the normal camera, there is a parallax shift, especially in close-up images, which can only be corrected to a limited extent in the app. Thus, the thermal image does not always overlap cleanly.
The finished images can be viewed on the PC and still contain the thermal data, but for post-processing you need the FLIR tools, which take a lot of getting used to, where I would have expected to be able to move the thermal image around and adjust it with the mouse -- neither that nor even a slider for the parallax can be found.
On the positive side, the case is sturdy with easy-grip buttons. SIM and SD cards are well protected under a cover.

Unfortunately, the torch can no longer be set to the programmable button.
This may be fixed with an update.

The phone really isn't that great, but it's the 2nd one I've had that switches off and then never restarts, so it has to be sent back under warranty (before a month's wait).
Also when using the thermal camera, it crashes the camera and vice versa.
After a few months, it becomes extremely slow and often crashes...
For a phone at this price, it's really disappointing...

I've been using it for a while now, but it's not really a great phone, it's slow, it bugs a lot, I've had to reset it 3 times in a month, the photo quality is terrible.
I had to send it back, I hope to be reimbursed, for this price we can find better and buy a good case because the robustness seems the only positive thing to see in the long term.

The device is no longer completely up-to-date, but with the thermal imaging camera it offers a good and desirable accessory.
