    Best ratio among 80mm fans

I bought five of these fans for a previously poorly cooled computer.
There are three important points when buying a cooler: Air flow rate, volume and price.
I looked at different fans, especially the Noctua NF-R8 and Sharkoon
    Silent Eagle.
On paper, this fan is roughly twice as loud as the other two, which is why I initially wanted to distance myself from this one.
However, the computer is in a rather warm place and, as already mentioned, desperately needs good cooling. One problem with the Silent Eagle is that although it is very quiet, it doesn't move much air.
The NF-R8, on the other hand, has a higher air flow rate at almost the same volume, but is twice as expensive. Especially with five units, this has a considerable effect.
That's why I finally chose the T.B. Silence.
Now I have to mention that my hearing is above average. I often hear things that others do not perceive.
However, I have to hold the T.B. Silence directly to my ear to hear its sound.
15dB versus 9dB looks drastic on paper, but in reality anything less than 20dB is inaudible. You also have to consider that you usually already have louder fans in the case (CPU cooler, power supply and especially the graphics card). In addition, the whole thing sits in a closed case.
15dB is by no means a disturbing volume, but still extremely quiet and not really audible.
At almost 50m3/h, the T.B. Silence offers a very high flow rate for an 80mm fan.
At the current price of around 11.10, the T.B. Silence offers a much better price/performance ratio than the NF-R8 and cools much better than the Silent Eagle.
That's why I would buy the T.B. Silence again in a heartbeat.
I give this fan an absolute buy recommendation. A top product.

    Pro

    • Best price/performance ratio
    • Large flow rate for an 80mm fan
    • Not audible during operation

    Contra

    • Louder on paper than some competing products

Prefer Noctua, but low speed ok.

If Noctua is the Mercedes, then Enermax is like a Toyota. On paper for less money offer something comparable, but the difference is directly noticeable.

The removable rotor is handy, however, one of the two fans I ordered
came with a half-mounted rotor that I had to remount first.

The look is also more a matter of taste. The cable is long, but the color (somewhere between beige and light gray) makes it look like the cable of the ancient free headphones that you got with a booklet at the kiosk in the decade before last.

Conclusion: Overall good for the money, but if you can afford a Noctua etc., then you make the better choice with it. Especially if you want to use PWM for speed control, as otherwise this will only work with a motherboard that supports DC control.

    Pro

    • Price/performance is good
    • Removable rotor
    • Long connection cable

    Contra

    • Design is a matter of taste
    • Beige/light grey cable
    • Louder than comparable Noctua fan
    • No PWM

A really very good and quiet 80mm fan. Se...

A really very good and quiet 80mm fan. Acceptable for me even at full speed. Nevertheless, good air throughput. Price is even slightly lower with other suppliers, but definitely a good value for 17CHF. Competitor models either have less throughput, are louder or cost significantly more.

Defect on delivery, apparently no final inspection during production

They are apparently relying on the customer to waive a claim because it takes too much time. This is already the second China article from Digitec that is defective immediately after arrival.

    • runs much too slowly
    • Power consumption 10% of specified value

    Clear buy recommendation!

Very quiet fan, inaudible from a distance of approx. 50 cm. I used it to replace the loud graphics card fan (set to minimum, it was still almost as loud as a hand blender :-) ) on one of my PCs. The GPU temperatures remained at the same level, but with a quietness that is now a joy.

    Buy recommendation

The fan is not audible at all (under 100%), but 1 star is deducted because the fan does not blow as much air as others. In a silent system, however, an absolute buy recommendation.
