HP M102w LaserJet Pro

the product contains a power plug for Germany and England, unfortunately not for Switzerland. That means I need an adapter or must change the front plug.

Good for the price, but digitec delivers the printer with an English and a German cable (plug) - rather impractical for customers in Switzerland! So be prepared to buy another cable if you don't have one from the old printer that happens to fit!

I've been using an HP Laser 404 duplex for years with much cheaper toner cartridges without any problem - x-thousands of pages printed. That HP is now blocking printers so you have to buy from them overpriced is disgusting.
From Pelikan I had perfectly functioning toner for half the price, about 30 instead of 60 - 80 francs. Everyone always babbles about personal responsibility when it comes to economic policy, even big companies like HP. But if they can make money with paternalism, they grab unabashedly.
I wanted to buy a new HP because there are no new printer drivers for the old one. I let that be and tinker what about an older Mac, which I still have.

Actually, I wanted a different printer. I ordered this one because delivery was possible. In the end, it arrived a good week earlier than the initial information. Made in Vietnam, installation spotless. On the other hand, it is a real nuisance that the USB cable promised on the Digitec page is not included (the HP brochure says it is only intended for Asia) and that there is no power cable commonly used here. Fortunately, I had the foresight to leave the connection cables to the PC and to the power supply from the previous printer still plugged in. Please improve.

Despite information from HP that go: the can only A4 duplex! No A5!

Since I didn't want to turn on the 2.4 GHz network just for the printer (unfortunately I couldn't find the information online anywhere that 5 GHz is not possible), an additional 3m USB extension cable was purchased. Works.

Print image does not quite meet my requirements. But it is enough for home use.

This is the most troublesome printer I've ever owned, and today I almost threw it out the window once again. Whenever I haven't used it for a couple of days, it suddenly can't be found on the network or the drivers are suddenly invalid.... I've reinstalled this piece of crap for the umpteenth time now, just to print a few pages. "HP Smart" - my ass ...

I am really disappointed with this printer.

Installation was very tedious. The code generated by the printer was not accepted by HP about 5-6 times.

The paper feeder defacto does not work. Virtually every time I don't print, it can't feed the paper.
My ancient HP LaserJet 1018 is over 15 years old and works without problems. Too bad, too much has been saved away here.

EDIT: After longer, proper testing:
I often have to print A4 and then C5. When switching, the printer often does not notice that paper is back in. No matter if restart. Toner compartment open and close. 80% of the time, it just doesn't get it.
You only want to print one paper size? Buy it. You want to switch paper sizes like me? Find something else!
Original:
Does what it's supposed to do. Without paper very compact. Wi-Fi connection via USB cable possible, via App has not worked.
Had once an error that a tray was open - but went away after a day.
Paper is slightly rolled when printing.
Grey import!
A CH cable is supplied but.

In standby mode, the power button flashes continuously. This cannot be turned off (https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5...). A blinking light although there is no problem is a gross design flaw. HP has been aware of this one since at least 2015 (https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5...). I'm also not the first to return the device after this thread. Too bad about the otherwise good device and the manufacturer.

The HP M203dw LaserJet Pro printer arrived without the CH power cable. Instead of the CH power cable, a German and an English power cable were included, which means that they will go into the Recykling system.
The power cable is mentioned in the item description and as we are here in Switzerland, it can be assumed that a CH power cable is also supplied. Unfortunately, this annoyance also occurs again and again with other products. However, Galaxus sent a replacement cable on request.

Printing letters or sheets of paper for studies? All good, quality good enough. Small, doesn't take up much space. Wireless printing also possible. However, due to the small size, the toner runs out faster than with older, larger models of the predecessor printers.

Very nice, no-frills, laser printer.
It's compact, cheap, it works over wifi (haven't tried over USB), it's quiet and reasonably fast.
A great solution for home (instead of the lousy ink jet). For being compact they had to sacrifice a couple of "space consuming" features:
- Only black and white (no space for 4 toners)
- No automatic two side (no space for plastic gear)
and they saved on "fancy" features (no ethernet port, only wifi and USB)
It fits in a drawer/in my library and this is what I cared most.
The toner is not as cheap as the printer (~50 CHF for 1k pages) but not outrageous either
All in all the best you can reasonably expect at that price-point and size
Also, unlike other reviews, I got a Swiss cable in the package
