For little use, be sure to buy a printer without HP Instant Ink Service.

The product is good, but the Instant Ink Service from HP is annoying. If you cancel it, already delivered and thus paid cartridges become unusable! This is a bad business practice of HP.

    no go

After years of loyal service, my OfficeJet 8260 unfortunately went out of business (shortly after I had bought a new print head and, thanks to hp, had to buy new cartridges as well - for "quality reasons" the new print head refused to work with the opened cartridges). So an alternative had to be found (the approx. 200.- for the new print head and the new cartridges were in the bag).
After some research, the choice fell on the 9010 (without the hp rip-off subscription for the cartridges, of course). After ordering from digitec, the printer was delivered promptly and with the usual digitec reliability.
As soon as I unpacked it, I had the impression that they had saved a lot of money on the material (advantage: lighter; disadvantage: feels really "wobbly").
Installation went like this. The installation routine is not very transparent, but finally delivered a usable printer.
Printing is ok, print image comparable to the 8620. As usual with the hp rip-off band, the cartridges supplied do not go far. The ink level display is not usable. Within a few barely printed pages, the indicator for two cartridges dropped from 70% to "empty". A new, freshly inserted cartridge was shown as 90% full. What's really annoying: the paper feed is lousy (I've never seen anything so cheap). There are often paper jams (with heartbreaking scenes where the print head still thunders into the jammed paper and causes a mess in the printer). The jam is difficult to clear. The support for this on the display is not good.
The biggest failure compared to the 8620, however, is the scanner. The software is better in terms of operation, but the hardware is lousy. The originals are fed in crookedly and the software cannot correct this. The scanner is so shaky that I doubt the printer will even come close to the lifespan of my beloved 8620.
Conclusion: Another rather expensive hp product, shaky and weak in terms of workmanship, overpriced and fake in terms of consumables as usual (ink levels). I don't think I'll buy another hp printer with this development. Too bad.

    Good printer, but rather expensive

All in all, a good printer. But as usual in this price range, it is quite slow to start up and the construction and materials are quite cheap. For example, the screen is built in crooked(!). Without HP cashback, the printer would be too expensive.
The available functions are good and more than you need in everyday life.

    Scanner smoothes, sharpens and compresses

Scans and prints very fast, good for small office.

Setup: First of all, it does not print, neither via e-mail nor via PC. Print jobs hang up. After many attempts it finally worked. Why do I have to use the troubleshooting
wizard? Can't I do without it?

Scanner: disaster. No matter what you set, e.g. TIFF uncompressed. Nevertheless, the colour scans are littered with JPG artefacts, areas are smoothed and edges are enhanced. Absolute NoGo!

    Would not buy it again

    Pro

    • Edgy modern design
    • Prints quickly
    • Print from USB (only photos, no documents, not even PDF)

    Contra

    • Print pale and frayed on plain paper (old HP printers could do better)
    • Scan heavily processed and poor quality (despite settings)
    • You have to use the error wizard several times to set up the system.

Scan to network folder does not work

The device is functional and inexpensive.
    The print quality is good.
But if you want to use the "scan to network folder" function (for example for a share on Mac or Synology), it doesn't work and HP support doesn't know either.

    It
works with a share on PC (Windows 10).
Too bad they advertise features that do NOT work

It's a shame because it's a very convenient way to scan, when the printer is not very close to the computer (you initiate the scan from the printer).
And scan to mail is just a "work around".

    • printing speed
