Kobo Aura H2O 2nd Edition

After my "old" Kobo broke down, I started looking around for a new one. The Kobo Aura H20 2nd Edition or the new Kobo Aura One were on the shortlist.
Because of the size, I decided on the H20. In my opinion, the Aura One is too big and no longer handy, as I often take it with me on the road. The weight also played a role in the decision. If I remember correctly, the H20 is about 50 grams lighter.
Unfortunately, Windows could not recognise the eReder. But Digitec exchanged the device without any problems and very quickly. I found this service from Digitec really great.
I like the new light technology, which adapts to the personal sleep rhythm.
It's a shame that this device is only available in black. You can see every fingerprint on it. My old device was white, which was less tricky.
Be careful not to clean the device with wipes for screens. That doesn't work at all, it makes a huge mess. The best thing is a microfibre cloth that is very slightly damp.

I got the Kobo as an upgrade for my old Sony reader (model from 2012, bought in 2013) and although I'm not jumping for joy, I'm still satisfied.
I especially like the lighting and the fact that the reader is waterproof. Otherwise, it does what an e-reader should do, even if not convincingly in all points.
Unfortunately, the handling of PDF files is still as awful as with my old Reader and the book management via PC doesn't convince me either.
With the help of Calibre, however, the administration can be managed well. But you should think carefully about the synchronisation settings in Calibre and what you want to have as a collection on the Reader. Once collections have been created, they are difficult to delete from the Reader.
The Kobo Cloud simply lets you download the books you have bought there. Books that have been read can be sent to the archive in the Cloud and deleted on the Reader to save storage space. If you like clouds, you might like it, but I'm just not a fan of it. Especially since the Reader does not recognise if a book in the Cloud has already been downloaded to the Reader via PC.
All in all, the Reader can do what I expected, but unfortunately not more.

The Kobo Aura H2O 2nd Edition looks very positive at first glance. The design, the size and the way it feels in the hand are very good. The first problems become apparent during the otherwise quick setup. Typing the email address becomes an ordeal, as you have to wait 1-2 seconds after each entry before you can type the next letter. Unfortunately, this reaction delay runs through the entire reading experience.
Because of this, and because the previous page(s) are usually still visible as shadows after turning the page, as well as occasionally a line is simply missing when turning a page, I thought I had received a defective device (the former can be alleviated by an adjustment). After the uncomplicated exchange, however, exactly nothing got better.
The bottom line is that I am disappointed with this eReader. The reading experience is significantly impaired by these inconveniences and I get annoyed every time I take it out to read.

All those who like to read with an e-reader will be satisfied. It is handy, light and holds well in the hand. The battery lasts me easily 3-4 weeks with frequent use (if I always switch the device off, not standby).
I am very happy with it and would buy it again.

i already had the old 'aura h2o' (unfortunately broken...) - the new one is a bit better with the adjustable light temperature.
unfortunately, the sleep cover of the old one doesn't fit the new one.
