A bit loud, not as fast as I'd like
Overall a fine drive. The short cable requires it to sit on the desk by iMac so the noise is noticable. Much louder than Lacie 8TB Porsche drive.
Speed is marketed as 260 MB/s

HD is robust, fast, quiet and has plenty of memory.
The LED is recessed. Thus, if necessary, a small adhesive can suppress the glow of the LED.

Power cord with adapter
The device itself would certainly be good.
However, an adapter must be used for mains operation. This is automatically supplied, but was unfortunately nowhere mentioned. I would not have ordered the product otherwise.Contra

A good hard drive if it weren't for the great noise it makes, I wouldn't buy it for my studio anymore.

Disappointing quality check
I have ordered a D2 twice before. Both times I had to send it back due to a defect. Once the light still worked. The second time, I couldn't find the defect (loud cracking noise every 3 seconds) right away and may now have to wait several weeks for a new drive. Not professional quality for me.

👍 Good product
In contrast to other reviews, this external hard drive works unobtrusively quietly with my MacBook Pro. Only when "switching on, loading" for use is it noticeable for a short time until all the data has been loaded. When retrieving + loading files on this hard drive, it "hums" briefly almost inaudibly, certainly not annoying.
I have covered the device with a dust cloth to protect it, which dims the blue indicator light almost imperceptibly. Data transfers are stable and fast.Pro

Perfect
After an unsuccessful attempt with another brand that resulted in two consecutive returns, I'm back with a Lacie record that has proved its worth over the years, and this record is its heir.
1) Installation
All I had to do was put on the right plug for the power supply and plug in the USB cable.
The disk was instantly recognised, with a folder for the Mac and one for the PC. You were redirected directly to the product registration page for the warranty: efficient, professional and indisputable.
2) The product
Stable transfer rate of 260 Mb/stable for large MXF-type video files. Stable on a large number of small files. Doesn't make any noise when it's working, only the blue light flashes from time to time.
3) Design
I'm back to those old Lacie cases, it's smaller, lighter, more grey allu, with well thought-out pads underneath to stabilise it on the surface. Black, discreet elegance, and the famous blue buttonu.... ♥

Nice capacity for the price, but the cooling leaves something to be desired
Previous versions, with the aluminium finned casing, stayed at around 40°C. The absence of a fan makes this one particularly quiet, but I'm a little worried about its lifespan.

I'm not an expert, but it's too slow for me when I want to retrieve data from the storage, then the message "no response" appears first. after about 30-40 seconds it then displays the data.
My computer is new (still has 1 year warranty) and the memory (the LaCie) is not even a quarter full.Contra
