Simply a fantastic phone.
Exactly for software developers and people who need a simple smartphone without a lot of unnecessary features.

Probably the best smartphone I've had so far. Immediately rooted and installed CyanogenMod11 - adapted... absolutely thrilled with the performance and the simple design!
Top phone, what more could you want for this price?

Super mobile phone!
I am absolutely thrilled with it.
I can recommend this phone to every Google fan, as almost everything is linked to Google or even runs via Google.
The speakers are basically not terrible, but they leave a lot to be desired...

The only true Android mobile phone. Runs fast, beautiful display. Super P/L ratio!

Brilliant smartphone, I've been using it for a month now and haven't had a single jolt or anything like that, the part is even faster when switched to ART. The battery lasts well for a day with normal use, and it is then plugged in at night anyway.
I can only recommend it!

Nexus 5 is cheap and good. The camera is wonderful. The only thing I don't like are the speakers. They clang and rattle a bit. Fortunately, I hardly ever need them.

Absolutely thrilled - of course only after a few adjustments.
Currently the best smartphone for me.
The delivery also went very well. Thank you digitec.
Super performance, super design, good battery life, camera absolutely OK for the price.
Buy recommendation!
The pure Android experience is great, simple, fast and without any slowdown since I got it (3 months). On the hardware side, the casing is simple and of good quality. The coating on the back allows a good grip. Black point: the speaker layout in landscape mode.

I'm thrilled, the speed and battery are top, the camera should be a little better (as with most smartphones).
The software has a bit few settings for me (previously had Cyanogenmod on the S3), but with root, xposed framework and Gravitybox, this problem is also solved.

Bestes Handy ever! Pure Android, kein struggle mit 3rd party apps. OTA upgrade tadellos. Uptime >1000h (nicht Akku, sondern OS)
Unfortunately, the device is so good that after a year of use I still haven't found a reason why I should buy a new mobile. Normally these last max. 12 months.
Price/performance is getting better and better. For all those who need a phone who don't always want to run after the latest but always want to have the latest. The performance is still great. It runs everything I want, but I don't play any games. Otherwise absolutely smooth.

Performance & feel are absolutely CLASS!!! I was an Apple disciple for many years and have now finally switched... and I'm so glad I did :). I've never seen anything as cool as the Nexus 5, it's so fast and for me the most important thing, it can play 1080p videos with DTS sound with the MX player RUCKELFREE!!!! The only drawback is the small memory of 16GB, which is not enough at all... so I'm selling it and ordering the 32GB version in Germany to my German address via the Play Store.

I went to the Swisscom shop with my new Nexus 5 to change my SIM card. The Nexus 5 was the star with the shop staff :-)
@weberj85 LTE via Swisscom works perfectly.
It's finally here and I like it a lot. Beautiful, fast and wonderful. Highly recommended. Price-performance ratio is super. Direct purchase recommendation! I am very satisfied.
I've had it for 3 months and I have to say that the price/performance ratio is top notch. A brilliant device, battery life, speed, processing, software simply top. I can only recommend it.

I can only agree with the others. Very good and fast smartphone at an excellent price. LTE also works without any problems with Swisscom.

Before I bought the Nexus 5, I owned an Iphone 5S. The difference, ease of use (Android 5.0 L), Google connectivity and workmanship is TOP. I never thought that such a cheap phone could be bought for such an unbeatable price. The battery life is also better than that of the iPhone 5S. TOPTOPTOP, I can recommend it!

I'm still thrilled, even after more than half a year. The battery is a bit weaker now, but otherwise it's still a very good smartphone. However, today I would tend towards a 32GB. At some point, the 16GB are simply filled (photos, podcasts, etc.).

Actually a super smartphone with an excellent price/performance ratio. Unfortunately, my NExus 5 lasted just one month. After that, I could no longer switch it on. Sudden Death. Hallelujah. Is now in the repair.
Apparently it's a known problem. But Google hasn't done anything about it yet! See https://productforums.google.com/forum

@troja001: I recommend Ringdroid from the Play Store, with which you can cut your MP3s and save them under the respective category (alarm clock, ringtone, notification sound):

About the device itself: I've been using it for almost a week now, it runs very smoothly and the battery is definitely more durable than the one in the Nexus 4, display-on times of 4 hours are now possible even under 3G/4G. I previously only achieved such times, if at all, in WLAN (Nexus 4).

After switching from the Galaxy S1 to Windows a few years ago because the phone was extremely unstable, unreliable and slow, I have now switched from the HTC8x (with which I was actually quite satisfied) to the N5.
I have to say, it's the best decision I've made in a long time! The device is super fast, runs stable and the battery lasts enough (at least with my use). I also like the design and the "rubber finish" a lot better than the G2 or S5.
The only negative point would be the scope of delivery, which basically consists of nothing but the phone. However, the price is so low that this doesn't bother me at all and I just buy the accessories that are otherwise included.
Unfortunately I had to send the device in twice.after the first time the internal speaker no longer worked, the device was repaired.a new motherboard was put on it.after 3 days the same error again and in addition the wireless charging no longer worked.Digitec also refused an exchange of the phone and insisted on repair which I regretted very much.I will sell it immediately when I get it back from the repair.

I had a Samsung Galaxy s4 before. The Nexus 5 is a lot faster and about the same in terms of camera and battery. Best Android smartphone

The Nexus 5 goes down like Schmidt's cat.
If you only switch on NFC, GPS and 4G when needed, there is usually around 60% battery left in the evening with moderate use. Exchange Push, however, seems to be a power guzzler.
I am positively surprised by the camera. The HDR+ images are beautifully contrasty with very good colour fidelity in low light. In general, the camera's automatic system is very restrained in its use of the flash. What bothers me a little is the rather long shutter lag and the slow autofocus. In video recordings, the sound quality is absolutely excellent and the effective OIS image stabiliser provides a bit of steadycam feeling.
All in all, a first-class smartphone at an amazingly low price.

the bluetooth on skoda Columbus also works wonderfully for me, as it does for all other android devices.
At first I thought that the battery would not last very long. now, after 3 days of everyday use, it lasts about 2 days without charging. I noticed a big difference when Google NOW is deactivated. (Battery lasts much longer) NOW is very poorly supported in Switzerland anyway. NOW can be deactivated on the homescreen. simply stay on an empty area for a long time, then select Settings.
Greetings

Fantastic device with a very good camera (albeit with slow autofocus, which sometimes leads to blurred photos) - both in good and in poor light (thanks to IS, much less noise than the iPhone 5S). Absolutely brilliant HDR+ mode that produces better photos in almost every situation (unlike some other phones).
Top workmanship, brilliant software, good battery so far, everything is fine!
About the price in the US: the Nexus 5 costs even more in the US retail than here. At Best Buy, for example, $499 + VAT for the 16gb model. VAT is also added in the Play Store. Apart from that: Google sells the devices in the Play Store heavily subsidised (with the ulterior motive that content is then sold). This is not possible in Switzerland, where there is no Google content except for music. The price at Digitec corresponds to the official European retail price!
