Logitech Ergo K860

In almost 40 years of professional IT, I have tried out many keyboards. Among others, the legendary IBM Model M and the identical Unicomp that I still own today, various Microsoft Ergonomics, Logitech K800. All of them quite ok. But all topped now by this one. Great palm rest (adjustable in 3 steps), great mechanics, layout for 10-finger typists can be used immediately and perfectly without getting used to it.
If I had to look for disadvantages with a magnifying glass: Logitech asks during installation if you agree to send "Analytical Data" to Logitech and later asks for personal registration. Sorry, it's a keyboard and I don't join a club for that, and the manufacturer only gets Analytical Data in the event of a defect. But this downer doesn't bother me, you don't have to agree to it.
And the keyboard illumination of a (also good) K800 would still be useful to me, even as a 10-finger typist.
Conclusion: For me, the best keyboard. Thanks to Logitech. You make my day.

Received this keyboard today: really has CH layout as usual!
Finally I can dispose of my ergonomic Logitech Comfort Cordless Keyboard.
For people who know the 10 finger system a hit.
The negative points are "complaining on a very very high level".
- after a few weeks, one adjustable foot already had a fatigue fracture. Otherwise, I am still satisfied and enjoy the switch to Bluetooth for cell phones

The fact that you can easily operate several devices with it is great. One keystroke and you are from the Linux PC with Unifying Receiver to the laptop with Bluetooth. No backlight is not a disadvantage but an advantage. a) no one who writes with 10 fingers needs that and b) it saves a lot of battery. And exactly these are normal and not a battery, i.e. you can put in what you want and do not have to charge the keyboard with a cable. In addition, there are no battery defect discussions. The wait was worth it, and yes, you can moan a bit about the price, but hey.... ;-)

I have been using the keyboard privately for a little over 2 years and we have 2 others in use at work.
For me, it is currently the best wireless, ergonomic keyboard with CH layout available. Full stop.
But... the lettering on the keys flakes off after about 1 year on all the keyboards in my environment. It's a shame. I use my copy at home regularly but for 1-2 hours a day at most. My keyboard still looks perfect after more than 2 years, but the lettering has suffered.
One of the keyboards in the company is just under 1.5 years old (with 8 hours of use per weekday) and has suffered VERY badly. The lettering on many keys has completely disappeared and the matt surface of the keyboard has worn away, making the keys shiny. It looks very unappetising. The palm rest of this keyboard has also become discoloured.
My suggestions for improvement to Logitech:
- Improve the quality of the keycaps (!!!).
- The keyboard should be able to be used with or without the palm rest.
- The palm rest should be replaceable

I use this keyboard together with the mouse: logitech MX Master 3 (see my rating for it).
Unfortunately, the keyboard cannot be used with pure plug & play. Even if the desired apps were activated in the logitech options+, the F keys do not behave as usual.
Trick: Press "ESC" + "FN" keys at the same time, then the F keys should work as usual in the various apps! (After a long Google search I discovered this hint. Thanks for it!)
I find it a bit strange that only the palm rest can be raised, but not the keyboard (as with other logitech models).

If out of the box, then with two usable AAA batteries and USB-C charging option for emergencies on the road.
Then rather without batteries to equip with suitable rechargeable batteries, but still with USB-C charging option for emergencies on the road. Because, quite honestly, that's easily within the price range.
Otherwise, the usual high quality without the need for software installation under Windows.

Before I decided on this ergonomic keyboard, I had heard a lot about this type of keyboard, including negative ones. That's why I was a little sceptical about getting used to it. I tried it out as soon as I received it and it writes super well straight away, without any problems. The only special thing is that the pillow is ultra comfortable, but the skin that rests on it gets a little warm. But I still wouldn't want to do without it. Would buy it again immediately.

This is my second ergonomic keyboard (last one from Microsoft with cable). This one was a bit too big for me and the keys were noisy. The Logitec one is smooth to use with the key spacing, no noisy keys and is also great for smaller hands, you don't have to stretch your fingers as much. In terms of size, it is like the average flat keyboard. It is also pleasantly curved and can be used and positioned ergonomically even with limited wrist movement. I am very enthusiastic and positively surprised. I would buy it again right now (1 week of daily use)! Price / performance totally fair.

At first, the keyboard takes a lot of getting used to and typing quickly is a pain. However, after a while of getting used to it, you find it very comfortable. The ergonomic keyboard was recommended to me by physiotherapists to reduce my shoulder pain, which was caused by years of bad posture while typing.

Bought the keyboard together with the MX Vertical Mouse and am very happy with it. However, you also have to learn a little and ideally know the ten-finger system for writing on the keyboard.
Compared to a normal keyboard, you can't just put your fingers on the "other side" of the keyboard and write with one hand.
The only thing that would make the keyboard even more flexible is a separate number pad that can be used on both sides. But otherwise everything is top.

I have the keyboard & mouse at work and am very pleased.
The ergonomic posture extremely relaxes my hands, so I have much less pain. The position of the hand on the mouse takes some getting used to at first, but over time it becomes very "relaxing" so that I no longer have aching wrists in the evening.
Only the non-removable palm rest bothers me a little, because in the groove dirt accumulates, which is difficult to remove.
Otherwise a top investment!

I've been using a Logitech Ergo keyboard at home for almost twenty years, and it's only now that I have one at work, even though I spend a billion times more time on the computer at work than at home! I swear!
This keyboard is amazing, the position is so natural! How could we spend so much time on flat keyboards, twisting our wrists insidiously, and for so long?
In addition to the usual feet of raising that we usually find under the back of the keyboard, there, they are under the FRONT! Of course, to increase the naturalness of the position: you raise your chair a bit, and your arms and hands fall completely naturally on the keys, and never again your wrists or forearms suffer the slightest tension.

because I have the MX KEs I had expected the same (only just divided) ... but is a little different keystroke (maybe I'm just imagining it) and does not seem quite as high quality

Thanks to this keyboard, my hands rest gently and fly over the keys.
My wrists hurt less and I can type for longer periods of time.
Unfortunately, I mistyped more often at the beginning because the spacing is slightly different from my usual keyboard and the "T", "G", "H" and "N" keys are unusually extended to the middle. As a result, I sometimes typed a "T" instead of a "Z". After a while, you get used to it and these typos no longer happen.
All in all, a top keyboard.

The keyboard has been in use for about 2 weeks now. So far I am completely satisfied. The typing feel is excellent. The fingers have quickly got used to the new layout from a normal keyboard and the typing speed is slowly increasing.
The range of functions corresponds to other keyboards, media control, switching between windows, etc. I find the key for the calculator practical.
Switching between up to three paired calculators is extremely fast and without problems. The workmanship seems excellent and feels really good. The keyboard stands like a 1 on the table, the palm pad is very well placed and shaped for my hands. The tilt can be adjusted to three heights.

On the K800, the letters, numbers and characters are "lasered" into the keys. Of course, nothing fades. The K860 saves on this and "only" has stickers. For me, however, the keystroke and the relaxed arm position are decisive. High praise to Logi

Very good keyboard for 10-finger technique.
Weight and rubber pads keep the keyboard well in place. Are satisfied with the response of the keys.
What I don't like is that the function tangents are double occupied with media tangents. As a programmer, I also need function tangents; I would prefer separate keys for media functions. Keys are also labelled twice for Mac and PC. Here I would prefer the keys to have the usual Windows labelling.
I use the keyboard with Linux, it works wonderfully.

Update:
The "E" button kept getting stuck when I pressed it, so I took it out to see if there was something in the diaphragm or something. - Nothing. After reattaching it, the "E" button always fell right out when I pressed it... I lost hope until I took a closer look and noticed that the "hooks" were/are rather wider, so I pressed/bent them towards the middle and look. The key now stays in again and doesn't fall out.
The keyboard is also rather difficult to clean. - Nevertheless, it is still best to write on it.
A pleasant and nice-looking keyboard. Of course, the curved middle section is something of an eye-catcher - but for an ergonomic keyboard for 100CHF, it looks good and also looks good on a desk.
After just one day, I was able to get used to the shape while typing. At the moment I still mistype a little here and there, but I've already got used to it 90% of the time.
I also like the fact that I can connect the keyboard to several devices, so I can work on the work laptop during the day and switch directly to the PC after work and only have to press one key.
The media keys are also great.
And although the keyboard comes with a numeric keypad, it doesn't take up too much space. It's almost as narrow as my TKL keyboard.

I have been working on the computer for 40 years. For a good 20 years I have bought the Microsoft Ergo keyboard again and again. Unfortunately, the keys are unreadable within a short time and the keyboard is huge. Logitech's keyboard, on the other hand, is a flyweight, compact and of a higher quality. Of course, this is reflected in the price, but it's worth it. I have great pleasure and my fingers just run over the keyboard. The flat arrangement of the keys also means that I make mistakes much less often. The only thing that hasn't worked yet is connecting it to other devices like the iPhone. Ideally, I would like an on-off switch and a USB cable like with the MX mouse. But overall, I am very satisfied.

Switched from MS Sculpt Ergo keyboard after 4y of use. In comparison, you move hands a bit too much with this one, as keys are located in a significantly wider area. Takes time to switch, but I think MS keyboard is more ergonomic.

Best keyboard ever! Ergo design takes a little getting used to at first, but after 1 day it feels quite normal.
The F keys have to be controlled via fn by default, because the shortcuts are selected directly. But you can change this in the Logitech software.
