On the whole, I think the Nokia 8 is very good. I pre-ordered the Nokia and received it at the beginning of September. Design and quality are top in my opinion; I have dropped the phone several times and you have to look closely to see a scratch. The phone also has a USB 3.0 Type-C connector.
I had a Samsung Galaxy S7 before and find that the Nokia 8 runs smoother than the S7 and also has a much longer battery life (I barely managed a working day with the S7). I am also a big fan of the stock Android :)
I also tested the included headphones: Compared to other headphones that come with the phone, such as Samsung's or Apple's Earpods, the Nokia headphones sound clearer and have a deeper bass.
If you register as a beta tester for the Google app, you can also already use the Google Assistant (as long as the system memory is German DE). For me, the Assistant is just a gimmick --> funny Easter Eggs and games (e.g. "Triviatschi" --> quiz).
Disadvantages:
Besides the fact that the camera app is still immature (e.g. too few setting options in manual mode), I find it pretty stupid that there are hardly any accessories for the Nokia 8. There are hardly any cases and foils (at least here on digitec). It is also not waterproof, but "only" splashproof. I also miss the wireless charging, which I used daily with the S7.
I think the price of CHF 630 is okay, it could be cheaper, but at least it's cheaper than the other flagships.

I was very sceptical at the beginning. But after the purchase and a few days of testing, I am pleasantly surprised. I was a Windows Phone fan before. This Android smartphone is awesome!

I did a lot of research, I was going to buy a mid range phone and then I saw this, a flagship from Sept 2017, from Nokia at a mid range price! I am very happy with the phone, every month there is a security update so that gives me a warm feeling. It feels great in the hand, a perfect size. Not one of these massive phones. If you want to play games this phone can handle them all with ease. The Nokia 8 is a safe bet, a flagship at a mid range price.
