A lot of performance for a fair price.
With this purchase, I was able to beam myself from the analogue age into the digital age...
The mobile phone is connected to the device and now we can listen to music or watch films that I stream to the device...
This device can do everything for my needs. I am totally thrilled. I was able to set up the device menu-supported and use it very quickly. Super replacement from my LG unit, from which I was able to reuse the boxes.

Beautiful design, sophisticated furnishings
It took me several hours to configure everything so that it is easy to operate. With çK devices, you have to use high-quality HDMI cables, otherwise nothing works.

Perfect sound, easy to set up
Great, compact receiver
I use the device as a universal receiver in the living room. I stream from NAS in the basement, from Google play music and radio from TuneIn, all via WLAN. It also works with Google Home. Unfortunately, it takes almost 30 seconds to establish a connection - far too long (compared to e.g. Chromecast, which starts streaming almost immediately). The digital amplifier is convincing and fully sufficient.

- Operation on the unit somewhat minimalistic. An equaliser directly on the unit would have been nice.
It is foreseeable that HLG will establish itself as the HDR standard, which is why you should no longer buy a device without HLG support today.
Unfortunately, there are no longer any useful software updates for this device. Unfortunately, the promised Hybrid Log Gamma support will not be available via software update.

Exactly what I was looking for. Small and with support for passive subwoofers and 4K

One of the last of its kind
When I had to replace the Panasonic set because it didn't pass 4K signals, the Pioneer was actually the only set that fit exactly in terms of dimensions.
I don't regret the purchase, especially since I had to wait almost a year for it (Corona).Pro

Smart receiver
Since I was looking for a unit with a passive subwoofer output, the choice was not great. But the VSX-S520D convinced me. I connected it via network cable and operate the receiver mainly via the app. With the app, you can wake up the receiver from standby mode.
Rarely (about every 3 months), my device shows "Connecting..." or something like that on the display, then the power button has to be pressed for about 5 seconds so that the device switches off completely. After that everything is ok again. This will probably be solved with the updates. I was able to connect my old surround speakers and the passive subwoofer from LG without any problems, the sound is perfect. I would buy the receiver again immediatelyPro

Perfectly adequate for simple living rooms and sounds. If you want top quality like in a sound studio, you need something better. Bluetooth connection not reliable.

One of the smallest devices
One of the smallest units when space is at a premium.
Speakers applicable from 4 (3?) ohms! Rare!
Mains cable is not interchangeable but has a Schuko plug! Cannot be connected immediately.
When using the headphone socket, the loudspeakers are muted, therefore not suitable for older hearing aids.
Antenna socket works with the supplied DAB antenna but not with 75 Ohm cable system plugs.
No manual enclosed, must be downloaded and the 74-page German manual peeled out of a 526-page, 7-language conglomerate, seems to be the practice today, but for a device with these possibilities, a manual is indispensable - preferably in hard copy!
I could not extract any audio data from the HDMI out?
Automatic loudspeaker levelling is flawless.
Firmware update possible but in case of failure it is unclear whether a return to the original state is possible.
