This SSD was used to replace the hard drive of a Lenovo W520. I knew a clean windows install was the easiest option but this was a work laptop, so i had many programs that i didn't want to reinstall. I made a sensitive data backup to a company cloud and a personal drive. The software, if lost, could anyways be reinstalled from our cloud, but i wanted to save time. So here it goes: direct (or online: all drives connected with running windows 7) cloning did not work no matter what i tried. To make it short, this worked: basically an offline (unmounted) clone using Macrium Reflect (free version). First i made a drive image while logged to windows 7, and saved this image to a personal usb hdd. Then i swapped the drive from the W520 for this new SSD, and booted to a Macrium boot cd. On this CD operating system with Macrium Reflect, I format the new SSD and start the cloning by reading the HDD image from the usb drive. Worked perfect, minor software things to fix after the laptop detected a new drive. Re-run the computer performance rating, and the hard disk score went up from 5.2 to 7.9. Blazing fast, programs are ready to go faster than the time i need to click them all open.
Notes: I did *not* activate RAPID mode, it depends on RAM to store data, therefore a power loss would mean absolute loss of recently created data. I need reliability for work, i'm already riding the cheetah, no need to ride the thunder. (some tests show RAPID increase overall velocity by 2x). Also i keep my original drive exactly as before, just in case anything fails, but i don't think it will, the 3D-VNAND seems to be a very reliable technology. I keep new important files synced to the company cloud.

Very fast SSD, was recognised without any problems by the ASUS Z97PRO mainboard (WiFi ac). Installation of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit was done after a few minutes. Let's see how it goes with the 10-year warranty ...

I am super satisfied with this SSD. Finally, working on the laptop is fun again. Before, my 6 year old laptop (Sony VGN-NW21ZF) needed 10 minutes until I could work with it and now it only takes 33 seconds to boot up the laptop, enter the password, start Outlook, select a new email! :-)

Very good product, easy to use to replace an existing hard drive (cloning of applications and data)
Buy this product for a macbook pro ( 2012 ) works perfectly

Fast, long warranty, easy to set up and reliable.
Everything you would expect from a modern SSD.
I have already installed the fifth or sixth one in various PCs.
Run absolutely stable as usual.

Problem-free installation in an HP notebook of the DV-7 series as a replacement for the defective HD.
Much faster and more energy-saving than the previously installed hard disk.
New life for the 2 year and 3 month old laptop.

I am very satisfied with the performance of the hard drive.
Very fast, durable SATA-III SSD.
Nothing to complain about.

Everything ok, fair price. Robust and heat-tolerant, as PRO category
The best SSD on the market

I needed a larger system SSD. I had previously used the OCZ Vertex 4 (2 units) for years without ever having any problems with it. I actually expected a performance boost from the 850 Pro, but it didn't happen. It is not faster than the Vertex 4, which is already a few years old. It may be top in benchmarks, but it's not really faster in real life. I hope it remains reliable. I'm not a Samsung fan and prefer to use other brands.

I can only recommend the Samsung SSD 850 / 512 drive. It's super fast and easy to install.

The rating refers primarily to the data copying software supplied. It warns you that only files that are not in use can be copied. I therefore restarted the PC, switched off Dropbox and did not run any other programmes before starting the copying process. Nevertheless, about 20% of my files were not copied. No error messages were displayed, but about 3,000 files out of 18,000 were simply ignored. I only noticed this when I started the PC with the new hard drive and about 3'000 files were deleted in my Dropbox. Not whole folders were deleted. No, files were missing from hundreds of folders. With the help of Dropbox and backups, I was able to restore most of the files and counted them up at the end: exactly 3'157 files were not copied.
And this without any warning or error message.

My Acer Aspire V3 771G came with an INTEL SSD 120GB which I already replaced twice in 5 years. This time I decided to go with a bigger capacity and also try the PRO version of the samsung.
Satisfaction cannot describe how I feel. It is a performance shock. Since the 100GB was not enough to have both windows, applicaiton and my files I was using the HD for most of the work. Also my experience with the intel SSD was that the more you use it the faster it breaks.
I have now on the 500GB SSD moved everything Windows, 3rd party applications, my home directory and I even run 4 Virtualbox VMs: pfsense, FreeBSD 11.1 with jails, Windows 10, Nas4Free and the io on the SSD is never above 2%.
The VMs were always crawling but now they run superfast like running directly on the HD without virtualization.
I have only used this drive for a few weeks and I do not know how long it will last but its performance is amazing. It comes with a 10 year warantee so I guess its much better than the 2 year on intel.

Does what it is supposed to. The tests in the trade media are probably accurate.
I have two of the disks in use, one of which has been used as a system disk for about 2-3 years now and works perfectly and also performs well. Before that, I used two SanDisk SSDs in succession, both of which gave up the ghost after a while...

In use twice for a long time. No problems. Write rate does not drop even under continuous load.
Easy to install (and immediately formatted in the Mac). So far very stable in operation.
Although link speed and negotiated link speed 6 gigabit, I only achieve a little more than half the advertised read speed and a third of the advertised write speed. System was freshly installed on the bare SSD.
It's enough for me, I don't edit videos...
so far it is running smoothly
It was the replacement for the 4 1/2 year old SSD. Dimensions and connections were the same, so it was easy to install. I deliberately chose the Pro because of more read and write cycles.
The PC no longer lags since the replacement.

Installation was problem-free. Specifications correspond to the specifications and my expectations. Price/performance is right.
