Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro LTE

Update: Sell the watch again. The software and battery technology are not yet ready.
The OS is noticeably too stuttery and slow over long periods of time. LTE is nice to have, but having to charge the watch every day or even twice a day if you want to listen to music is impractical. And the most important point is that you need a smartphone, otherwise Whatsapp synchronisation doesn't work well and calls aren't always reliable.

Positive point the battery that allows to use the watch 3 days comfortably in normal use ( notifications, automatic health measurement, 1h of GPS tracking on bike, answer calls briefly, and 2h of music per day).
In an extreme use count max 2 days of autonomy which remains correct for such a product, if the activation battery saving is activated a gain of 1 day is possible.
Attention works with all options on a Samsung smartphone on other mobile a limitation is possible.
I strongly recommend the product.
P.S For left-handed people it is possible to configure the watch for the right wrist in the phone application a very good thing.
I just bought this with a samsung galaxy A35
it has a lot of functions healt is important for me so measuring ecg and bloodpressure was important, plus it can do all an apple watch could do , so it is an awesome bargain for the price . Value and design for the money is just the best ratio.

After owning the first Samsung Galaxy Watch for 4 years, I spent a long time trying to figure out which model would be its successor...
I didn't want to spend CHF 600 on the Galaxy Watch Ultra and, after watching a large number of videos and reading several reviews, I decided to buy the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 pro.
And it's at an unbeatable price on Digitec.
Autonomy is a key criterion for me, and I have to say that the 590mAh battery convinced me straight away. I get 4-5 days of autonomy, but with very specific settings:
- I chose a classic dial (see image attached to this review) with a black background and I set the brightness to 3 (I also disabled adaptive brightness) and I increase it manually if necessary (via Bixby).
- AOD (Always On Display) is deactivated and the dial only lights up when I turn my wrist to look at the time.
- The watch is set to vibrate (short vibration).
- The screen saver setting is 15 seconds.
- WIFI is deactivated.
- Localisation is deactivated.
- The LTE/4G function is deactivated and I only activate it if I find myself somewhere without my phone.
- All the measurement functions that activate the various sensors have been set to "manual only".
- The 'Auto. training detection' function is deactivated.
- The choice of notifications has been made according to the need to receive (or not) this or that notification. What's more, I've chosen the 'Show alerts even when phone is not in use' option. This means that I don't receive any notifications on the watch when I'm using my phone.
One final note: I've installed Google Assistant and so have the choice of saying "Hello Google" or "Hi Bixby" depending on the request. Bixby is very useful for the watch's functions (for example, "Hi Bixby, set brightness to 2" or "activate WIFI"). Google Assistant, on the other hand, is much better for more "general" requests.
Oh yes, there is one flaw to mention though: the charger... which is really minimalist and comes without a cradle to put the watch on when recharging (as was the case with my charger for the first Galaxy Watch, which unfortunately doesn't seem to be compatible with this new watch...)!
Don't hesitate if you have any questions, post them in comments :-)

Using the Watch for several months has been a largely positive experience. Setting it up went smoothly, in contrast to the Watch 3, which caused difficulties at the first attempt. The watch feels comfortable on the wrist, is light and fits well. The battery life is particularly impressive, surpassing even that of my previous Apple Watch Ultra. With normal use, I only have to charge the watch every three days, which only takes 30-40 minutes, which is extremely acceptable. Thanks to Wear OS, many smartphone apps can also be used on the smartwatch, including functions such as sending WhatsApp messages or entering fitness activities directly on the watch.
The watch is particularly suitable for use while swimming and is well protected against water.
However, some deductions must be made for the heart rate measurement. Unfortunately, this proves to be inaccurate and occasionally displays an unrealistically low heart rate of 41-50 for a few seconds during intensive strength training. The occasional connection problems with the smartphone can also be slightly annoying.
Overall, the watch offers a positive experience, despite some minor weaknesses in the heart rate measurement and connection with the smartphone.

The watch does many things well and is definitely a smartwatch. I bought this model because of the large battery, which doesn't last more than 2 days, which is definitely too little, and the LTE function. For me, it was important not to have to carry the mobile with me while running. This works very well. Unfortunately, it is miles behind Garmin, Fitbit or Huawei in terms of the sporting aspect. Why it is not possible to fully select the displays for each sport category is simply an impertinence. As an example: In MTB mode, it is not possible to display the altitude data directly, let alone the metres of altitude covered! These are absolute basics that a sports smartwatch simply has to be able to do... I would not buy the watch again. If sports tracking is important to you, buy another watch....

Very beautiful watch, good workmanship. I find the new wristband very appealing. The battery is also much better now (- 3 days). Unfortunately, the step counter is still not ideal, despite automatic detection, it is recognised differently whether you are walking or not, which is a bit annoying because it is not recognisable when and how the watch interprets the movement as walking.
The LTE connection (Swisscom) is very poor and has to be triggered despite the "automatic" setting in order to connect to the network. Too bad for the price.

I remove one star for the fact that Samsung limit the ECG and Blood Pressure functionalities to only Galaxy phone devices. These two functions can't be used if you have any other phone brand (Pixel, ....).
If you use Galaxy phones, these are perfect and ECG and Blood Pressure work well (requires calibration with an actual Blood Pressur device)
Read reports and comments about the 5 Pro in advance, then decided whether to buy it.
I am pleased to say that I can adapt this smartwatch perfectly to my ideas and it offers many possibilities.
With the eSim activated, it is also always connected autonomously.

Battery twice as big as Watch3 classic, but lasts only modestly longer. A good 2.5 days for me.
Tizen was more economical than WearOS.
But I am completely satisfied with the connectivity and functions.

Do not buy recommended accessories! There is such a charger included with the watch.

The instructions are printed so small that you need a magnifying glass.
I have considered sending it back. My first Galaxy Watch with Tizen wasn't any faster. This watch with Tizen would be cool. Google hald.

I am satisfied with the watch - Watch 5 pro.
It has the functions I need and works well and reliably. As far as the battery is concerned, you can expect a good two days - and I'm not a "power user". So, in my opinion, not much, but not a problem for me personally because I don't sleep with the watch.
I don't really have any experience with smartwatches from other manufacturers, so unfortunately I can't say whether it would be better or worse in comparison.
Thank you!
