Seagate FireCuda Gaming Hub

The Firecuda Gaming Hub is, in my eyes, the best external hard drive I have ever owned. It offers a lot of storage space, is lightning fast in response, and has a consistently high data transfer rate. The only negative points are the access noise and the LED lighting, which I find useless. Nevertheless, I recommend the hard drive without hesitation because Seagate offers an absolute top product here, due to the above-mentioned reasons!

I was expecting to be able to connect the drive to my macbook with an usb C cable, but in this case nothing happens, the drive doesn't even start to spin. So you need to use the good old usb 3.x cable (included) + your own usb A to usb C adapter to use this product with a recent mac.
And small thing: the "Toolkit" tool from Seagate is not able to change the way the LEDs are used (RGB, etc.) under macOS, so it is also a small negative point.
But otherwise the drive works fine as a Time Machine disk.

The normal USB cable (i.e. not usb c) must be plugged in for the hard drive to run. It is automatically switched off when it is ejected.

The hard drive is fast enough for an HDD, even on my old laptop, and not noisy. A clear recommendation!

The disc makes a lot of noise and vibrations. For comparison. My old 5TB Porsche LaCie is much quieter. You can't tell if it's on or off. In short, it's clear when the Seagate is on. It's a shame.

Very good hard drive, we find the announced performances:
215mo/s in copy on a Samsung EVO 970 Pro
Very good design and fits perfectly in a "geek" atmosphere
Possibility to set the LEDs, several brightness features.
It scratches a bit during access, which is normal for a mechanical drive, but it has a bit of 90's nostalgia without being too loud or intrusive. Quiet in playback.
And especially an excellent value for money. about 300.- for 16TB hard to find better.

I wouldn't buy it again despite the chic design, write rate simply too low for my liking.

*The Seagate Toolkit should allow this option but it simply does not offer it in its current version.
