The model differs significantly from the previous model (18-250mm). It is more sluggish when zooming and takes a little longer to focus. I am curious about the service life. The predecessor, as well as the previous model, had to be serviced after 15,000 shots because they refused to work.

Good lens with great possibilities. After 2 weeks of use during the holidays, I am satisfied with the pictures taken. The only thing that doesn't suit my taste is the stiff zoom ring. It is a good choice.

Lighter than the older 18-200 version in almost the same size package, Sigma has once again delivered crisp quality and a broad range of use with this 18-300 lens. It offers very sharp detail when fully zoomed and a decent depth of field at 18mm. Although this is not a portrait lens, some very decent portraits can be made when combining the available apertures and a relatively far background. The shutter speed in sports mode is absolutely fine for regular use like children's soccer matches or capturing riders in a rollercoaster (when combined with its zooming capabilities).

Very flexible lens with good image quality, low weight and a moderate price. The workmanship is convincing, as is the excellent image stabiliser.
The annual free service by Sigma speaks for the quality of the lens and is a real selling point.

My upgrade from the previous 18-250 was a very positive surprise!
The first impression was that the old lens seemed more 'metallic', heavier, of higher quality. But this is only an impression. The 18-300 is better made, more precise in handling, and, most importantly: much sharper in imaging performance.
An all-round zoom is always a compromise to high-quality fixed focal lengths, but the 18-300 really convinced me on my last safari!

Good travel lens. Much sharper than the original 18-200. I am completely satisfied.
