The model differs significantly from the previous model (18-250mm). It is more sluggish when zooming and takes a little longer to focus. I am curious about the service life. The predecessor, as well as the previous model, had to be serviced after 15,000 shots because they refused to work.

Good lens with great possibilities. After 2 weeks of use during the holidays, I am satisfied with the pictures taken. The only thing that doesn't suit my taste is the stiff zoom ring. It is a good choice.

Lighter than the older 18-200 version in almost the same size package, Sigma has once again delivered crisp quality and a broad range of use with this 18-300 lens. It offers very sharp detail when fully zoomed and a decent depth of field at 18mm. Although this is not a portrait lens, some very decent portraits can be made when combining the available apertures and a relatively far background. The shutter speed in sports mode is absolutely fine for regular use like children's soccer matches or capturing riders in a rollercoaster (when combined with its zooming capabilities).

Very flexible lens with good image quality, low weight and a moderate price. The workmanship is convincing, as is the excellent image stabiliser.
The annual free service by Sigma speaks for the quality of the lens and is a real selling point.

My upgrade from the previous 18-250 was a very positive surprise!
The first impression was that the old lens seemed more 'metallic', heavier, of higher quality. But this is only an impression. The 18-300 is better made, more precise in handling, and, most importantly: much sharper in imaging performance.
An all-round zoom is always a compromise to high-quality fixed focal lengths, but the 18-300 really convinced me on my last safari!
Pro
Good travel lens. Much sharper than the original 18-200. I am completely satisfied.

The lens is the Christmas present for my granddaughter. So it is still too early for an evaluation.
But I have only had good results with Sigma lenses. That's why I'm very confident.

Super price/performance ratio
The ideal lens if you don't want to lug around 'heavy equipment' when traveling.
Pro
Good all-rounder lens. I mainly use it when I don't want to take all my other lenses with me. Good image stabiliser and top workmanship.
I also like the quite good macro properties. The lens is therefore sometimes used when I can't get that close to the subject with my real macro lens.

Good quality that may show with other lens manufacturers of this zoom range.
Replaces my 2 lenses and is not too big.
Super fast delivery, goods top top

Super lens
Use it now just under 1.5 months and am bright enthusiastic. Sigma has done a great job. The manual focus ring goes very easily what partly disturbs. The price is very fair.
Here is a sample photo made with the canon eos 70d

Excellent travel and holiday lens. I use it on a Canon EOS60D body and it works. It is compact and does not extend to full length when the camera is attached.

Good for holiday use
I am very satisfied with the lens. The workmanship is high quality and makes a good impression. The first photos turned out well.
A great lens. Initially, I didn't like the finish so much. I unpacked it next to another, older Sigma. The new one looks a bit cheap at first glance. But when I took a closer look, it quickly became clear that this was not the case. It is of high quality and works perfectly. A great travel lens.
