I would not have thought that such inexpensive things can produce such a good sound. The plugs filter out outside noise perfectly.

I decided to buy these in-ear headphones from Sony last week after comparing them with other headphone manufacturers.
I must honestly admit that the sound quality is outstanding for this price. Clear high tones and great bass.
Can recommend these headphones to anyone, certainly not a bad buy in this price range.
But I wonder if more expensive headphones are better, because for me (and 5 other people who tested the headphones with me) they are awesome.

Good, balanced, rich sound. Unsuitable outdoors in windy conditions. You hear the wind in the ear as a whistling or hissing.

A great headset for this price. Wearing comfort depends entirely on the ears.
The cables should be a little thicker and therefore more durable.

Unpleasantly sharp sound, no bass, hardly any mid-tones. No music enjoyment, just barely enough for speech (even there rather unpleasant).

Been buying these for years. Have had significantly more expensive ones but have always come back to these. The sound is great and they are comfortable (with a small ear canal there are few comfortable in-ear products, I can have these in for hours without pain).

Thin, cheap cables. Not an eye-catcher either.
Not again.
I would recommend and buy again.

I've been using the same ones for years, and Sony is still a safe bet when it comes to audio equipment.

I have been buying these low cost for more than 10 years. Always happy.

Honestly I don't see any negative points about these headphones.
For 20 bucks I am more than happy with them.
Sound is rich and basses are strong.
The type of headphones (in ear) help to isolate from outdoor sounds, despite not having any noise canceling technology.

I have bought Sony headphones a few times and have always been satisfied with them. This is no exception. However, you have to make concessions with this model in terms of sound quality. When I first listened to them, I found them rather moderate, but at least acceptable. You probably can't expect more for this price. If you're looking for really good Sony headphones (with cable) and don't want to spend a fortune, then the MDR-EX650AP model is a crystal-clear buy recommendation.
