Works without problem!
Helped us to easily expand the hard disk capacity of a Mac.
Very good hard drive in a high-quality, slim light metal case.
The SSD hard drive was easy to install in my Macbook Pro Late 2013 without any problems. Thanks to the attached videos, the installation can also be done well by less experienced people (English is understood videos in English).

Not compatible
The main purpose for buying this product was to replace the original SSD from MacBook Air, it didn't work no matter what. Aside of that, as an external SSD, PERFECT.
Great buy!
Used to store Native Instruments virtual musical instruments.

Ideal for upgrading a MacBook Air
Having an older MacBook Air with 120GB SSD (2017), I have upgraded the device with this product. It is faster than before and I no longer have to struggle with the amount of storage available.
There are tools provided that allow the opening + placement of the SSD in the MacBook Air. The fact that you can connect the drive is very useful if you want to copy all the data on the SSD to be replaced: a clone via the disk utility, replace the SSD and it's like before with more free space and faster!Pro

If you want to use the old SSD again, you should definitely use this set. Finding a cheap external enclosure for the Apple special design is practically impossible.
It didn't work for me with Time Machine.

More memory for your macbook at a good price
This is a great SSD of great manufacture, easy to install on your macbook (I think only until 2015 models) and at a great price compared to what apple offers! I personally hate to have external hard drives and unless I really need one I prefer to have as much memory as possible within my macbook. This ssd allowed me to keep my old ssd and still use it as an external ssd. It is not the fastest but more than enough for my needs. If you work with videos I recommend to buy the new one that is compatible with the newest OSX versions.

genuine quality product; multiple use!
... and after half a year I rededicated myself to this drive and now use it to have the system on an older Mac on the (small but fast) SSD that was originally in the MAcBook Air to be upgraded =>. With the Thunderbolt connection and the SSD technology, the older Mac is now much faster, its internal HD serves as sufficient storage space for data => real multiple use and thus really worth the money.

Do not buy
Formatting the SSD in the Mac so that you can get the operating system on it is a bit tedious. But it took over 20 minutes.
The hard disk overheats the Mac continuously.
Just copying photos from the desktop into the photo app was enough for the Mac to start glowing.
That's really no condition.

Good product and convenient to get your old SSD back
I have a MacBook Pro Retina end of 2013, the SSD works perfectly, no particular problem to report after 2 weeks!
Quick removal/installation :) Faster than the original... On Mac mini Late 2014 - 3 GHz i7 / 16 GB Ram - 2 TB Fusion Drive
Connected to Mac Mini Late 2014, formatted and reinstalled macOS 10.15.2 Catalina. Installation about 10 min. because I cleaned the fan a bit ;) With the Mac mini you still need the TR6 Torx 6 Security screwdriver.

Therefore only 4 stars because Transcend did not make the 855 model with Thunderbolt 2 ! Only TB 1 !!! Otherwise you would have about 1600 MB/s read and 1400 MB/s write on the Mac mini via TB 2 !!!! But since it's the Mac for my wife in the office, it's all enough ;) The Fusion Drive is of course already removed since the purchase.... Now internally instead of the original 128 GB now 480 GB SSD MVMe + 2 TB SATA HDD... But that will be replaced later by a SATA SSD ;)Great!
Very easy installation with the supplied screwdrivers. The disc works perfectly.
It turns out that since the switch to APFS the disk utility can no longer clone the disk without using the command line. The easiest way is to use Carbon Copy Cloner (even the trial version is enough to transfer data once).Extra space for your MacBook

From 128GB to 480GB also brings a lot of speed
The only way to upgrade an older MacAir. In terms of hardware, everything is included, the closures are correct, the only thing that was still needed was a close software. I've been using CarbonCopyClpner for years. It costs a little, can clone a running system, except for a few passwords almost all settings are taken over, much better than with TimeMachine.

The product looks very good, it contains two special screwdrivers for opening and closing the screws of the MacBook. Unfortunately, the P5 screwdriver broke and the company Digitec.ch has not resolved the replacement for 20 days, so I cannot complete the assembly. Poor customer service and support on first approach but then resolved despite purchase and payment in advance and warranty. I am disappointed. It's all because of a missing screwdriver replacement. I am still waiting for the replacement and also hope for compensation (compensation arrived)
