The Seagate's casing has ventilation slots on three sides - the hard drive doesn't need an external fan, but it also collects dust quickly. The read and data access speeds are good, but the Seagate is weaker when it comes to writing. The Expansion offers no extras, but it is one of the cheapest models tested.
