Product details

As early as 2008, Sigma introduced a standard lens specially developed for digital cameras with the high luminous intensity F1.4, the "Sigma 50mm F1.4 EX DG HSM". At that time, products for analog cameras
were still predominant, but Sigma had long since made great efforts to set a new standard for 50mm lenses in terms of optimizing the characteristics of digital cameras by increasing the image quality over the entire image field to a maximum. When DSLR cameras conquered the market in recent years, the development of high-resolution image sensors triggered photographers' desire for lenses with the highest imaging performance. In 2012, Sigma introduced its "Art" product line, which achieved unsurpassed expressive performance to meet the exacting demands of photographers. The first lens of the Art product line "Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG HSM" strived for uncompromising performance and earned very good reviews as well as a lot of awards worldwide. Based on the experience and know-how gained by establishing the standard for the Art product line, Sigma is proud to present the new development of the powerful standard lens with large aperture for the new era of superior image quality. By using all the experience and the latest design technologies drawn from past developments, imaging errors are effectively corrected and a high resolution and amazing imaging performance, even at the image edges, is achieved. While a high resolution is desired for the focused subject, a nice bokeh is desired outside the focal plane for a soft transition of sharpness. Imaging errors such as sagittal coma and color distortions that affect image quality are effectively corrected. Even with an open aperture, high-resolution reproduction without blurring is achieved. By reducing vignetting to a minimum and preventing coloured seams in front of and behind the focus point, a very natural bokeh is achieved. The lens provides very uniform illumination even at the edges of the image, which can be a problem with large diameter optical systems. The positioning of large elements in the front lens group improved efficiency with the aperture open. This contributes to minimizing vignetting and ensures extremely clear display across the entire image field.
