Die Sony ist sehr kompakt gehalten und dennoch gelingt es dem Hersteller die Bedienelemente derart gut anzubringen, dass die Bedienung komfortabel erfolgen kann. Die Bildqualität ist insgesamt als gut zu werten, wobei auch die Full HD Videos in hoher Qualität gelingen. Ein Sucher fehlt hier allerdings, wobei auch der Preis für einen Aufstecksucher mit knapp 300 Euro mehr als teuer ist.
Der Nachfolger der RX100 schießt noch bessere Fotos und ist dabei ebenfalls hochwertiger ausgestattet. So finden sich nun eine WLAN- und NFC Einheit an Bord und auch das Display ist nun klappbar. Einziger Kritikpunkt sind nach wie vor die kleinen Tasten an der Kamera.

Gute, kleine Universalkamera, für hohe Ansprüche, mit Netzwerkfunktion, allerdings ohne Sucher (nur als Sonderzubehör). Guter Monitor zum Klappen. Schnell. Für eine hochwertige Kamera ausgesprochen leicht und relativ flach. Viele Extras und Funktionen.

Die verbessert Sony bringt nun WLAN und NFC mit und ist auch bei der Bildqualität einen Ticken besser aufgestellt. Speziell das Rauschverhalten ist präziser und damit gelingen die Bilder schärfer. Allerdings könnte der Autofokus etwas schneller arbeiten, wobei auch die Serienbildgeschwindigkeit höher ausfallen könnte. Dennoch eine gute Kamera mit sehr hochwertigem Klappdisplay.
