The SEL2470GM2 full-frame lens is a G Master standard zoom lens with a constant F2.8 aperture, offering optimized image quality and excellent operability specifically for full-frame photos and videos. The modern optical design includes two ED (Extra Low Dispersion), two Super ED, two XA (Extreme Aspherical), and three aspherical elements, ensuring outstanding resolution.
A beautiful bokeh effect is achieved thanks to a circular aperture with 11 blades. Four complex XD (Extreme Dynamic) linear motors enable faster and more precise focusing when capturing videos and photos.
The SEL2470GM2, a video-capable E-Mount lens, provides smooth, fast, and continuous autofocus performance during video recording, minimizing focus breathing, focus shift, and axis shift when zooming for better image quality.

At 1,699 euros, the new Sony lens is not entirely cheap. In terms of image quality, it almost competes with the top systems of the G-Master series and is pleasingly light and compact. The somewhat unusual focal length range proves to be extremely practical.
With the FE 2.8/24-70 mm GM II, Sony has succeeded in creating a top lens that already achieves almost its full performance at open aperture. At the shorter focal lengths, aperture 5.6 brings a plus at the edges, and at 70 mm, stopped down, the resolution in the centre of the image increases slightly...
