The WD_Black SN850 NVMe SSD achieves an irrational 7000 MB/s read speed and 5300 MB/s write speed , so you can get in faster, with up to 1,000,000 IOPS for a smooth, responsive and powerful gaming experience.

With 3D NAND (also called V-NAND or 3D V-NAND), the transistors are vertical to the chip surface and the flash memory rows are stacked in layers. This achieves higher storage density while reducing the risk of interference between cells. Thanks to the shortened connections between the cells, the electrical performance increases and, as a result, the power consumption decreases.

In systems with NVMe support, this SSD really shines. You benefit from high throughput, high IOPS and low latency. Unlike the older AHCI protocol designed for traditional spinning drives, NVMe prevents performance degradation, offers faster transfer of large amounts of data, increased boot speeds, and improved system response time.

With this SSD, data is transferred using PCI-Express, making it far outshine traditional SATA SSDs in terms of transfer rate. M.2 SSDs are installed via the M.2 socket on the mainboard.
