The interior height can be fully used. But it can also be reduced with a separator (Velcro fastener). I've already had an EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM in it with an EOS 70D. That just about fits in. But of course it also gets heavy.

I have just been able to try it out, it fits - including the GeLi - so it is perfectly suitable.
I don't need the "separator". This eliminates the annoying fumbling on the road.

I use the Lowepro Toploader with the EOS 70D and the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS I USM and bring the camera down. The length is 28cm. But I have to attach the lens hood to the lens the other way round. There is not much space left. But 1cm extra should be OK, even if it is tight.
