Yakovlev
German, Wilfried BergholzProduct details
This type compass by Wilfried Bergholz contains everything worth knowing about the Moscow-based design office Jakowlew, which was founded in 1934 and was known for its robust aircraft and helicopter designs. While in the 1930s the office's main focus was still on the design of sports and training aircraft, Yakovlev developed the Yak-1 to Yak-9 series of fighter planes during World War II, several thousand of which came off the assembly line. In addition to his military and commercial aircraft, Yakovlev became famous in the 1970s and 1980s primarily for his high-performance aerobatic aircraft.
