Hello Community ...., I think the principle is great, my cats also use the toilet...BUT the odour is not contained, especially the container smells terrible, so the container itself still smells of cat excrement when empty and washed out.... have always used the matching bags...how can this be, or does anyone know what to do? The part with sand in it doesn't even smell that strong, or almost not at all.....

Helpful answer

I have had the automatic litter tray for 2.5-3 months. I don't have the problem.
We have 2 cats & 2 litter trays. We change the litter bag every 1.5 weeks so that it doesn't get too full & we then have problems with tying it up or that the faeces & urine are in it for too long.
Maybe the waste bag was once too full & therefore lumps of faeces or urine are stuck on the flap?
We wash the drum every month so we've never had any problems with it stinking.

Wrong cat litter !!!
(Too big, too coarse sand)

Try the Migros Fatto Plus litter (the blue one + clumping)

I've been using the same (first) bag since the beginning, never changed only emptied.
Never had to use the litter bin or wash.

No odour problems.
Cleaning once a month is perfectly adequate.

I can't confirm this, but I've only owned the toilet for a fortnight.
