Dreame X50 Ultra Complete
Vacuum mopping robot
I spent a lot of time debating whether to invest in a device like the Dreame X50 Ultra Complete, and now I’m so glad I did. This device has surpassed every one of my expectations and is worth every penny!
What impresses me the most is its ability to overcome even the most challenging obstacles. In my home, I have a threshold between the living room and hallway that’s 5.3 cm (about 2 inches) high. I never thought a vacuum and mop robot could handle something like that, but the Dreame manages it effortlessly and with incredible precision.
The base station is another standout feature. Not only is it visually appealing, but it’s also incredibly well-designed and functional. It cleans the water tank, empties the dustbin, and keeps the robot ready to go – all fully automated. The build quality of both the station and the robot itself is top-notch, showcasing great attention to detail.
I’ve been using the Dreame for a few days now, and it has made my daily routine so much easier. The combination of powerful suction, excellent mopping performance, and its ability to navigate my home flawlessly makes it an indispensable helper. Even tricky spots and tight corners are no problem for this robot, which is a huge plus for me.
Overall, I’m more than satisfied – I’m absolutely thrilled! The Dreame X50 Ultra Complete isn’t just a practical device; it’s a piece of cutting-edge technology that demonstrates how far home robotics have come. If you’re looking for a reliable, powerful, and well-thought-out device, you won’t be disappointed. I can’t recommend it enough!

I have had the appliance for a day now and have tested it intensively (4-storey detached house). So far I have not been disappointed. All the advertising promises have been kept. My only criticism is that the app is confusing and has a somewhat idiosyncratic logic. But you learn to deal with it 😉.

I have had other robots in the past, this is completely another world. I would say the top.

I have been using the Dreame X50 regularly for around five weeks and am very satisfied overall. It was easy to set up and the robot covered the flat accurately from the very first pass. I particularly like the environmentally friendly packaging (little plastic, lots of cardboard) and the extensive accessories, which should last longer. The appliance has a high-quality finish and all components are easily accessible and well thought out.
Performance and navigation:
The robot navigates reliably and reaches even narrow areas with ease. The mopping function with extendable arm and side brush is also effective. However, the X50 relies heavily on high-quality map material. Some AI functions caused problems for me by independently adding the wrong areas and thus rendering the map unusable. Only after creating a new map and making a backup did it work reliably again.
App and settings:
The app offers many functions, but seems a little confusing. It is worth testing the settings carefully and deactivating unhelpful options. I haven't really warmed to the "Clean Genius" mode yet and therefore prefer manual control. I also recommend vacuuming first and then mopping separately, as otherwise the side arms get damp and the cleaning is less effective.
Recommendations:
Once the home has been successfully mapped and manually optimised (e.g. curtains, low areas, mark carpets), be sure to create a map backup in the app after a few runs. Problematic AI functions should remain deactivated until the firmware is fully optimised.
Conclusion:
The Dreame X50 is a powerful, high-quality household helper, but it requires light maintenance and manual adjustments to the map material. It is ideal for technically minded users who want to optimise settings. Users with a lower budget might be interested in the cheaper MOVA from the same brand.

I sweated! I got angry! But I found the problem. I had blocked Aliexpress on my IoT wifi. As it's a Chinese product, the data is stored on Amazon's counterpart. Roborock doesn't have to access Aliexpress (or hide it well).
But back to the product. My flat is on one level but with 2 steps of 3.5 cm. As a result, I had to move my old robot so that it could clean the whole surface (fuulesack that I am, I had 2 of them).
Now X50 can do the whole surface without my intervention. The cleaning is good and leaves no marks. With the automatic filling and emptying kit, all you have to do is replace the dust bag and add more detergent. The rest is fully automatic.
I can only recommend this product, but I strongly advise you to isolate the wifi network available for Dreame.
We'll see how much maintenance it requires over time.

The only negative point is the price. It really hurts. But I have to say, this thing is really good. What I didn't realise before I bought it: there's a pet mode. When the camera recognises pets, the robot is particularly careful. You can even have the robot take snapshots with the camera. Bonus! I bought it mainly because there is no other robot (as far as I know) that can handle thresholds of this height and is significantly cheaper.

also works great over several floors. The appliance has to be carried up and down stairs, but this is not a problem. The appliance lets you know when it needs to return to the station.

Much better than Roborock Qrevo and Narwal Freo X. Finally, entangled brushes are a thing of the past. This thing is just PERFECT.

very, very happy with this robot. At last, we've reached a level of cleaning that means we can no longer do it by hand. The robot can detect dirt and adapt to it. It can detect the level of dirt in the water used to clean the mops and decide to do a second cleaning. It's a real technological marvel, and although it's expensive, it's worth the price.

The Dreame X50 Ultra is one of the best robot vacuums currently available. It shows no weaknesses in everyday cleaning and offers all technologically possible features: a retractable laser tower, extendable brushes and mops that are automatically cleaned with hot water in the base station and dried with hot air.
The robot vacuum also climbs higher than all its competitors. With its legs, the X50 can easily navigate thresholds of up to five centimetres. If you have obstacles like this at home, this model is for you.

In direct comparison, better than the Roborock S7 max ultra, which is also very good.
Easy to set up and works straight away.

Thorough wet cleaning
The biggest improvement over the D10 Plus is the mopping system: with up to 2 litres of water that the X50 can use for mopping, the floor is really cleaned in depth. Instead of just running a damp mop over the floor, the X50 has an active roller or mop function that effectively picks up the dirt. This can be seen from the 2 litres of dirty water that end up in the station after cleaning - proof of the powerful cleaning performance.
Highlights and functions
Intelligent obstacle detection
The Dreame X50 reliably recognises cables, socks and even minor animal accidents (excrement). What is particularly practical is that it reacts accordingly and either avoids these obstacles or cleans them carefully. I was even able to remove fallen plant soil (approx. 100g) without any problems using the spot-cleaning mode.
Automatic mop cleaning
Particularly helpful: The mop automatically cleans itself in the base station after each room. This reduces dirt carry-over and ensures a consistently high cleaning performance.
Convenience during preparation
Unlike many other robots, the entire room does not have to be "tidied up" before starting. The X50 reliably recognises objects and does not get caught in cables or carpet tangles. In all these weeks, I have never had to remove anything from its roller.
Practical experience
Performance & efficiency: Despite its cautious driving style, the robot is extremely effective. The combination of a powerful suction motor and active mopping technology ensures top results.
Firmware: At the moment, the software is still a little cautious when navigating, where the previous model was sometimes more purposeful. However, I expect future updates to further refine the navigation.
Conclusion: After five different robot hoovers to date, the Dreame X50 is the first one that is completely convincing. It completes all tasks without faltering, recognises obstacles, cleans thoroughly right into the corners and leaves floors really clean.
Pros & cons
Pros
Excellent mopping function with active floor cleaning
Very good obstacle detection (cables, socks, pet hair, etc.)
Automatic mop cleaning after each room
Deep cleaning (2 litres of dirty water as proof)
No manual reworking necessary
Cons
Higher purchase price
Firmware still a little cautious, but lets hope for improvements via update
Overall assessment
The Dreame X50 is a premium robot hoover and mop that impresses with its sophisticated technology and outstanding cleaning performance. Anyone who is frustrated with cheaper models and is looking for a real combination of vacuuming and mopping will find what they are looking for here. Even if the price is higher, the time savings, deep cleaning and smart features make the purchase worthwhile.
A clear recommendation for anyone who is looking for a top-quality vacuum-mopping robot and doesn't want to compromise on the topic of cleanliness.

I am very surprised how well it works, commissioning was relatively easy, control via app intuitive, but it is still worth reading the entire operating instructions. I recommend first learning the vacuum and then cleaning it. It struggles with individual deep-pile carpets, we now always take it away for a short time for the sake of simplicity.

We're really pleased with our robot :-)

We wanted to replace a Roborock S8+ (approx. 800.-) with a vacuum cleaner that can overcome higher thresholds. The X50 can do this. For higher thresholds, a preliminary stage of approx. 15mm width must be added. Then it also works with 5cm. Of course, the X50 can also do wet cleaning for twice the price. Which we don't need. But everything else is worse. The app is difficult to use. A speech bubble keeps covering the map. There are no shortcuts for predefined cleanings. Worst of all is the navigation. It drives round invisible obstacles that don't even exist. It forgets that a step is too high and drives against it 10-20 times and doesn't get over it, even though it got over it with the support legs beforehand. What was even worse was that he sometimes wanted to drive through the wall back to the charging station instead of over the threshold.
I'm sure these are all things that can be corrected by software, but at the moment it's still much "dumber" than our old Roborock S8+.

I had the predecessor X40 which was discontinued after 2 months. No difference in cleaning performance for the higher price.
The retractable radar at the top only retracts after it gets stuck, so attention still needs a certain height. So AI is probably more of a marketing gimmick. Unfortunately, the battery is weak or discharges quickly, I don't know how it behaves on large areas.
