The POPP 10-Year Smoke Detector can be connected to a Z-Wave gateway and emits an acoustic alarm signal (85 dB at a distance of 3 m) as well as a Z-Wave warning signal to the gateway in the event of a fire. Unlike the POPE009402, this smoke detector does not have an independent siren function. This means that the siren of the smoke detector can only be activated when smoke is detected, not in the event of a burglary.

The Z-Wave smoke detector reliably detects emerging fires and smoke developments. Thanks to Z-Wave radio technology, additional actions can be triggered by the smart home hub in the event of an alarm. To enhance safety, escape routes can be automatically illuminated, and doors and blinds can be opened.

With its built-in 10-year battery, this smoke detector can be used for the legally mandated period of ten years without the need to replace the main battery. However, the battery of the Z-Wave radio module can be easily replaced once the device independently notifies the Z-Wave hub of a low battery status. The functionality of the smoke detector itself is not affected by a depleted battery in the radio module. This device is the first smoke detector with Z-Wave to hold the Q-Label for special quality.
