Product details
The military vehicle Unimog S was used by units of the Bundeswehr to tackle a wide range of tasks. In addition to the standard cargo version, the variant of the vehicle with a box body also gained widespread use. Companies such as Gias, Harmenig, Zweirad-Union, BINZ, Voll, and others were involved in the production of these closed bodies. Approximately 16,000 vehicles were equipped with such bodies. Many of them were fitted with a heating system known as a turbo heater. Over time, the appearance of these bodies changed, resulting in variants with different types of hatches and windows. Protective grilles with ventilation slots could also be used for the windows. The versions of the Unimog S with a closed body, referred to as "box body" in Germany, had the longest lifespan of all Unimog S trucks.
