Test Report

6 egg cookers with hardness regulation or hardness display in a comparative test

It is as simple as it is complicated: Cooking an egg requires neither special kitchen equipment nor much skill; and yet people have always argued about the ideal way to cook an egg! One person wants an egg yolk that is only as soft as wax, while another would prefer it to be wonderfully viscous. An egg boiler should be able to satisfy every wish - and achieve the desired (target) hardness every time. Eggs do not have to be heated in a water bath, but can be cooked with steam in a gentle and energy-saving way. ETM TESTMAGAZIN tested 10 egg cookers; among them were 4 models with a hardness setting by water level and 6 models with a specific hardness setting.
