An overview of all events surrounding the Summer Game Fest
07.06. - Guerilla Collective Online Showcase
When: Wednesday, 07 June at 18:00
Where: Youtube, Twitch
What you can expect:
The showcase is organised by the "Media Indie Exchange" - The MIX for short. The event company organises online and offline showcases for indie publishers and studios. Accordingly, you can look forward to many indie gems from different genres at this livestream.
The games announced will be listed on a specially created steam page. You can also try out some of them yourself.
In addition to the Guerilla Collective Showcase, The Mix also organises two other smaller events. The "Dames 4 Games Show" (13 June at 22:00) will provide a stage for women in the video games industry. There will also be some new games and trailers to marvel at. The "Black Voices in Gaming" showcase (14 June at 00:00) will focus on games by black female developers.

08.06. - Summer Game Fest Showcase
When: Thursday, 8 June at 21:00 (until approx. 23:00)
Where: Youtube, Twitch
What you can expect:
For the first time, the Summer Game Fest Showcase will take place in front of a live audience at the Youtube Theatre in Los Angeles. As usual, the event will be hosted by Geoff Keighley. And as befits a Keighley event, you can expect lots of spectacular trailers and new announcements for AAA games.
It has already been confirmed that gameplay for the fighting game "Mortal Kombat 1" will be shown for the first time. Remedy Games will also be showing more impressions of the upcoming psychological thriller "Alan Wake II" on stage. Henry Cavill will also be there to show the first trailer for the third season of "The Witcher" Netflix series.
It is also very likely that CD Projekt Red will reveal new information about the upcoming "Cyberpunk 2077" DLC with Idris Elba. Fromsoftware fans can hope for an update on the mech game "Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon" or gameplay for the upcoming "Elden Ring" DLC. It is also likely that Activision will present this year's "Call of Duty". Keighley's old mate Hideo Kojima will almost certainly drop by with fresh gameplay for "Death Stranding 2".
You shouldn't expect too much from the three console manufacturers at this showcase. Sony already shot their powder at their Playstation Showcase back in May. Microsoft is gearing up for their own Xbox Showcase on 11 June. And Nintendo is not listed as an official partner of Summer Game Fest listed.
Phil, Simon and I will be watching and commenting on the event live. Stop by and chat with us live on Twitch and Youtube.

08.06. - Day of the Devs
When: Thursday, 08 June at 23:00
Where: Youtube, Twitch
What you can expect:
Another indie event will take place immediately after the Summer Game Fest Showcase. The stream is organised by developer studio Double Fine and merchandise manufacturer iam8bit.
In this somewhat slower and more intimate event, you can expect smaller and larger indie games from all over the world. The developers behind the games will have their say and introduce you to their creations. The perfect contrast to the sensationally staged and fast-paced Summer Game Fest Showcase.
09.06. Devolver Direct
When: Friday, 09 June at 00:00
Where: Youtube, Twitch
What you can expect:
Indie publisher Devolver Digital organises incredibly crazy press conferences every year. The pre-produced videos are wonderfully nerdy, trashy and very often bloody. You never know what crazy ideas the publisher will come up with.
Devolver has come up with a video game mascot for this year. In Devolver's parallel world, the ugly little mouse Volvy is "a cultural icon of the gaming world and more influential than any pop star or politician". I can't wait to see what role the deformed rodent will play in the presentation.
And of course there will be plenty of indie games from Devolver to marvel at alongside the crazy production. Most likely also "The Talos Principle 2". The puzzle game was already teased at the Playstation Showcase in May.
You can watch last year's event here.
09.06. - Access Ability Showcase
When: Friday, 09 June at 17:00
Where: Youtube
What to expect:
A showcase centred around the topic of accessibility in games. 15 games will be presented. Six physically impaired gamers and accessibility consultants from the video game industry will host the show.
09.06. - Tribeca Games Spotlight
When: Friday, 09 June at 21:00
Where: Youtube
What to expect:
The Tribeca Festival focusses on games with outstanding storytelling. Among others, the hand-drawn dino adventure game "Goodbye Volcano High" and "The Expanse" - a video game adaptation of the popular Amazon TV sci-fi series. The list of all games is listed on the Tribeca Festival website.
You can watch last year's stream here.
10.06. - Future of Play Direct
When: Saturday, 10 June at 17:00
Where: Youtube, Twitch
What you can expect:
According to the organisers, you can expect "exciting new games from all over the galaxy". Or translated: lots and lots of indie games. Stray Fawn Studios from Switzerland will also be there.
The games on show are listed on a steam page. You can try out some of them for yourself.
You can find last year's presentation here.
10.06. - Wholesome Direct
When: Saturday, 10 June at 18:00
Where: Youtube, Twitch
What you can expect:
According to the organisers, the Wholesome Direct will present "uplifting, emotional and profound" video games. Just "Wholesome". You can look forward to over 70 (!) indie games in total.
10.06. - The Future Games Show
When: Saturday, 10 June at 19:00
Where: Youtube, Twitch
What you can expect:
Another "Future" livestream? Yes! But this one has nothing to do with the Future of Play Direct. The Future Game Show is organised by the video game publication Gamesradar. The showcase will be hosted by Playstation Spider-Man Yuri Lowenthal and Playstation Mary Jane Watson Laura Bailey.
Which games can you expect? It's unclear. But the organiser is talking about various world premieres and exclusive trailers. I am curious. You can watch last year's stream here.
10.06. - OTK Games Expo
When: Saturday, 10 June at 20:00 (until approx. 23:00)
Where: Twitch
What to expect:
The OTK Games Expo is an indie game presentation lasting around three hours. The whole thing is organised by the influencer network "One True King" - OTK for short. In contrast to the other showcases, you can expect a relaxed atmosphere where you can talk to developers about their games and play them together.
You can watch last year's stream here.
11.06. - Xbox Games Showcase & Starfield Direct
When: Sunday, 11 June at 19:00
Where: Youtube, Twitch
What to expect:
Microsoft has to deliver. The bitter aftertaste of the last Xbox-exclusive game "Redfall" (56 at Metacritic) must be washed away with the showcase. Microsoft needs to make its Xbox devotees feel like they can finally offer exciting, quality exclusives. They certainly have the studios to do so.
Is Rare finally showing gameplay for "Everwild" or even "Perfect Dark"? Will Obsidian Entertainment delight us with the sci-fi RPG "The Outer World's 2" or will they show first impressions of the fantasy RPG "Avowed"? Is there any new info on the co-op game "Contraband" from Avalanche Studios? And what is Ninja Theory actually doing with "Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2"?
Questions upon questions. What is fairly certain, however, is that Playground Studios will officially unveil the new "Fable" game. At least that's what a funny glitter tweet from Xbox suggests.
One hundred per cent certain is that Bethesda will be bringing new impressions of their sci-fi epic "Starfield". The detailed gameplay presentation of the game is scheduled right after the Xbox Games Showcase.
Phil, Simon and I will be watching and commenting on the event live. Stop by and chat with us live on Twitch and Youtube.
You can watch last year's stream here.
11.06. - PC Gaming Show
When: Sunday, 11 June at 22:00
Where: Youtube, Twitch
What you can expect:
As the name suggests, the PC Gaming Show presents a whole host of PC games. The organiser "PC Gamer" speaks of a total of 51 games - 20 of which are new announcements. These include "Baldur's Gate III", "Frostpunk 2" and "Dune: Awakening".
You can watch last year's PC Gaming Show here.
12.06. - Ubisoft Forward
When: Monday, 12 June at 19:00
Where: Youtube, Twitch
What you can expect:
Ubisoft shows new impressions of "Assassin's Creed Mirage", "Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora", "The Crew Motorfest" and the VR game "Assassin's Creed Nexus VR" at its press conference.
Perhaps there will also be an update for "Skull and Bones", which has already been postponed six (!) times. And what about Beyond Good and Evil 2? The game was originally launched in 2008 (!) and has been postponed countless times. One can dream and hope.
13.06. - Capcom Showcase
When: Tuesday, 13 June at 00:00 (until approx. 00:36)
Where: Youtube, Twitch
What you can expect:
Capcom's stream is short and sweet - it's only supposed to last 36 minutes. You shouldn't expect too much in this short running time. Last year's showcase was mainly used to present DLCs and updates to previously released games. With any luck, there will be a few new impressions of "Dragon's Dogma II", which was already announced at the Playstation Showcase in May.
13.06. - Xbox Games Showcase Extended
When: Tuesday, 13 June at 19:00
Where: Youtube, Twitch
What you can expect:
Xbox is doubling down and giving its fans a second showcase. In this presentation, the games that were presented at the first showcase will be covered in even more detail. You can expect more gameplay impressions and interviews with the developers. There will be no new announcements here.
14.06. - The UploadVR Showcase
When: Wednesday, 14 June at 20:00
Where: Youtube
What you can expect:
Lots of VR games for all current VR platforms
15.06. - Grasshopper Direct
When: Thursday, 15 June at 06:00
Where: Youtube
What to expect:
The cult studio Grasshopper is turning 25 and celebrating its history and franchises. There are no real announcements.
16.06. - RGG Summit Summer 2023
When: Friday, 16 June at 05:00
Where: tbd
What to expect:
I love the "Like a Dragon" game series (formerly known as "Yakuza"). So I'm really looking forward to this livestream. At this event, developer studio Ryu Ga Gotoku - RGG for short - will be presenting new information about the spin-off "Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased his Name" and "Like a Dragon 8". An announcement for "Judgement" or a completely new IP is also possible, according to rumours.
29.06. - Annapurna Interactive Showcase
When: Thursday, 29 June at 06:00
Where: Youtube
What to expect:
Annapurna Interactive is known for games such as "Stray", "Neon White" and "Kentucky Route Zero". The popular indie publisher promises new trailers and one of the biggest announcements they have ever made. I wonder what that could be?
May was also a busy month
Some publishers bypassed the hustle and bustle surrounding the Summer Game Fest and held their events a few weeks earlier. Here you can find an overview of the events that have already been streamed
Humble Games Showcase
The indie publisher Humble Games showed off some of its upcoming indie games in a presentation lasting around half an hour. The cuddly games whet the appetite for more.
Playstation Showcase
The Playstation Showcase included "Spider-Man 2", "Assassin's Creed Mirage" and "Alan Wake 2". Sony also unveiled a new streaming handheld and earbuds. Phil has summarised the showcase:
Warhammer Skulls 2023
A showcase focussing exclusively on games from the "Warhammer" universe. Among other things, "Realms of Ruin", a new real-time strategy game, was announced.
Marvelous Game Showcase
Marvelous, the developer studio of "Story of Seasons" (formerly "Harvest Moon") and "Rune Factory", has dared to organise its own showcase for the first time this year. Several new games from the two game series were announced.
Meta Quest Gaming Showcase
Meta announced and presented some exciting VR games at its showcase, which will also be released on other VR platforms. Highlights include "The 7th Guest VR", "Vampire: The Masquerade - Justice" and "Stranger Things VR".
The company has also unveiled new hardware. Kevin has summarised all the information about Meta's new VR headset in this article:
Which event are you most looking forward to? Which games do you really want to see in the coming days?
