Today Lego presents a new Ideas set for Dungeons & Dragons
by Anne Fischer
Fans have been kept in the dark for a long time, but now all the details about the new Lego set "The Legend of the Red Dragon" are known.
The popular role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons turns 50 this year - and to mark the occasion, Lego wants to launch a large game set. This was the result of an ideas competition and is based on a suggestion by fan designer Lucas Bolt (32). In total, more than 600 Lego enthusiasts submitted their designs.
The set, called "The Red Dragons Tale", will be available from 4 April 2024 and consists of 3745 pieces.
On the evening of 19 March 2024, Lego presented the details of "The Red Dragons Tale" set. Prior to this, there had been a countdown to the unveiling on the Lego website:
Now the details have been announced. The "Dungeons & Dragons" world consists of a tavern with a removable roof, a tower and a dungeon. When assembled, the scenery measures 48 x 37 x 30 (height x width x depth) centimetres. It comes with six play figures: four adventurers, an innkeeper and a dragonborn. You can also assemble monsters: a beholder, an owl bear and a deceptive beast. With the exception of the dragonborn Alax Jade Scale, each figure also has an interchangeable head. The red dragon Cinderhowl can then be built around the tower.
Lego also offers you the chance to purchase an adventure book, which was created in collaboration with the game publisher Wizards of The Coast. This is also the developer of the game Dungeons & Dragons. However, it is only available to Lego Insider members. In keeping with the pen-and-paper philosophy, the box comes with a total of four building instructions for the individual features, so you can also build the set together with friends.
As soon as we have the set in our shop, I'll let you know.
