Spotify gets a new design - it reminds of TikTok

The streaming service Spotify has increased its prices in many countries - Switzerland is not yet affected. But that could still change.
After Deezer, Apple, Amazon and Tidal had already increased their prices, Spotify followed suit. In large parts of Europe, the individual subscription now costs 10.99 euros. The affected customers have received an email with the price increase in the last few days. However, some countries have been spared, including Germany and Switzerland.
Depending on the plan, Spotify increased the price by one or two euros. Students in the affected countries have also not been spared a price increase; they now pay 4.99 euros per month. And the Duo plan costs 14.99 euros, while the Family plan costs 17.99 euros.
The reason given by Spotify for the price increase in the press release is that it wants to continue to innovate. The new subscription prices will continue to offer fans and artists added value.
From this perspective, it could also be that Spotify is asking customers in Germany and Switzerland to pay more - neither country is known for low prices.
A recent survey conducted by moneyland shows that around 70 per cent of the Swiss population use a streaming service - but videos beat music: YouTube is more popular in Switzerland than Spotify. However, only 22 per cent of those surveyed use YouTube Music.
Spotify, on the other hand, is used by more than half of those surveyed, namely 52 per cent. Apple Music comes in at just 25 per cent and the niche Soundcloud at 20 per cent.
Interesting is the low willingness to pay in Switzerland. Just under 40 per cent of the representative study stated that they would pay to listen to music. Half of those surveyed use Spotify for free with adverts - or use other people's logins.
