The X-T50 inherits many functions from the top-of-the-range X-T5 model, especially the very sophisticated autofocus. The housing with its retro design and operating concept is smaller and lighter, but does not offer dust and splash protection. The X-T50 clearly shows its close relationship to the X-T5 in many respects. The image sensor and image processor are identical and ensure very good image quality and high speed. However, you also have to make concessions compared to the X-T5. First and foremost, there is the weaker battery and the lack of weather resistance of the body. However, the X-T50 is the much more compact camera!

If you are looking for a very small camera for particularly detailed photos, the Fujifilm X-T50 is the right choice. The 40-megapixel sensor makes most other compact system cameras with an APS-C sensor look pretty old - only significantly larger and more expensive full-frame models can top the Fujifilm...
- The combination of the 40-megapixel X-Trans CMOS 5 HR image sensor and the X-Processor 5 ensures first-class images and high AF performance, including AI moto detection and tracking. The camera scores points with its compact housing.
- The list price of 1,499 euros is a little too high. When comparing the current street prices, there is a difference of only 200 euros to the top model X-T5, but already around 600 euros to its direct predecessor, the X-T30 II, which is currently on sale for 899 euros.
The new X-T50 has both light and shade. One of its advantages is the high image quality, which corresponds to that of the top model X-T5. On the other hand, there are many little things that spoil the fun of the new model. These include the low viewfinder resolution, the retention of the small battery (instead of the larger version in the X-T50 or X-S20), the lack of a pixel-shift function, film simulation...
The two new cameras fit very well into the X and GFX system and offer the proven Fuji quality. The X-T50 has been greatly upgraded, especially with the image stabiliser, but is also significantly more expensive than its predecessor. It will be interesting to see whether Fuji will continue to develop the X-E and X-Pro lines...
